Accidental Magus

When his best friend and longtime crush Jitana is swallowed by a beam of light that descended from the sky all the while seeing her body gradually vanishing like sparkles right before his eyes, Jessaise could only hold onto her and not let go until he got dragged in and suffer the same fate.

Thinking death was upon them, Jessaise instead found himself transported to the magical world of Htrae. A series of unfortunate near death encounter including getting chased by a wolf like monster, led Jessaise to meet Chivaree, the number one student of the prestigious school Senryn Academy of Magic.

With zero knowledge of this new world and no other plausible option, Jessaise decided to enroll into the academy to try and learn how to use magic in order to find Jitana and get back home once and for all. Getting accepted, he realized that learning magic won’t be as simple as he thought it might be.

In Htrae, magic affinity can be classified into four categories:

 Sensory is magic that regulates the senses
 Matter Control is the ability to manipulate matter with physical form
 Element Control is the ability to create and manipulate matter with intangible form
 Ancient Magic is the term used to categorize a few types of rare magic

A person usually only have one magic affinity but there are rare cases of individuals with dual magic affinities and can have great mastery on both. These individuals are called Magic Geniuses. They are well regarded even at a young age and usually given high status within the society.
