read til chapter 201 translation is readable, but names may change from paragraph to paragraph or chapters, and the names of places also. genders change sometimes, and grandfather, son, daughter etc. is almost picked at random sometimes. that being said, i still enjoy the story. might be worth trying to find some other options which are free. story is fast and slow enough, and characters are likable and grow. world background is not very detailed, just county there, city here, etc so...
Love the story and the pace. Also very different from most novels on here. Very refreshing and new feel reading it. Anyone have any stories that are similar?
The overall story is quite good . There is good world building, the pacing is nice , the MC is quite powerful and stable without any cliches of face slapping . The cheat provided to the MC is also strong but not overpowered enough to make the story boring and it mostly depends on MC's hardwork , the cheat also helps his family improve . The only downside in this story according to me is a slight problem with translation where sometimes the genders can be swapped or wrong names are written but it's not too big of a problem since it's only sometimes and it goes back to normal quickly . So , if anyone is looking through the comment section to decide if they should read this story or not , you should give it a try .
It's an absolutely amazing novel, its got elements of historical and jianghu stories but isnt limited by them. The development of his family, garrisons, towns, etc. are all like kingsom building. The politicking with officers, the emperor, and other fanilies is like a game of thrones style grand drama. Definitely a fresh take on transmigration, even among other ancestor transmigration stories. I love that his cheat is not overwhelming, even though its strong over a long period, its pretty subtle, amplifying foundation. MC is pretty funny and often has hilarious internal dialogue. The only thing thats hard as a western reader is keeping track of the names, but even that is not really hard, there are main characters within his family. sometimes the translation will reverse the characters but overall its very understandable. Its my favorite book right now!
chapter 420 _ translation quality is same as in the beginning 4/5 story _ I have read loads of shitty Chinese work this one bring on the better side 4/5 world background _ just normal wuxia though I have seen signs of elemental powers recently 4/5 updates are regular 5/5 Charaters __ At least mc is not linear and ACTUALLY USES BRAIN ___ AN ABSOLUTE SHOCKER ‼️‼️ 4/5... overalll it was a more than a good read .
The plot stays true to its title... for about five chapters. After that, it should be called The Mystery of How an Empire Survives When Everyone Has a Negative IQ...
The title of this novel should not be clan raise: starting as a grandfather it should be named military raise: raise in military ranks in most corrupted dynasty under most incompetent emperor of all time. This story started good but as the novel is going on we get to understand how usless the author thinking is. Even present day Chaina does not have this much corruption. let me say you what is happening in this story first MC becomes Military officer as a female military officer thinks that he can train the soliders and recruit him. then he Trains the soilsers how we don't know he on earth is not from military background but an graduate. he trains them in such a way that they become elite among elite and there is an invasion he protects the military supplies and only his team will be able to protect military supplies and he gets promoted. Next he needs to train a new batch of soliders then again there was an invasion and he attacks them with some less than 500 groups he defeats more than 1000 troops of enemy. Next again he gets promoted again he needs to travel to a different location and needs to train the troups here there is some additional plot story that is someone is betraying the dynasty and supporting the enemy. for this there is some story back and forth and finally MC catches the culprits then later this time there is an invasion planed by the dynasty on the invaders. so MC leads his newly trained elite 1000 soilders and invade the enemy tertory. Here the enemies are barbarians and mostly live in clans. Next in battle he kills more than 10,000 enemy troups (Massacre more than 8 clans) and he gets the name as god of slaughter then next he meets with his superiors and kills a large clan which has more than 20000 troops his superiors are useless if he did not reached in time they would be killed but still he will not get recognition. then he meets with the female general whom I mentioned before then attack the enemy capital city and he kills the king and they win the battle this will result in the empire extension and due to this emperor recognizes him and gives him a small promotion and makes he move to a different location here again he needs to start training a new batch of troops. so the story is all about get promotion in military and training new troops and facing corrupt officers and deal with them and why I said incompetent emperor because don't you see every where MC goes he needs to train a new batch of soliders every where so why is that the emperor sorounded himself with corrupt officials from top to bottom in such a way that if MC does not get involved the empire would have been dilefeated by barbarians and several other internal and external enmies. Is this how a emperor should run an empire this now is so dumb it does not make any sense. if you want to read a dumb book with a lot of nonsense and stupid stuff this book is for you. But if you want to read a book with a bit of sense then this book is not for you.

Solid C. Not good but not bad. The original fights are weird and give the mc excessive plot armor, in a battle leading rookies they achieve a 60 to 1 kill death ratio, but after that it gets better. The large scale fights are some of the best and most realistic aspects of the story. The one on one fights have a bit more plot armor but it’s not excessive. The thing that really drags the plot is the forced love interest. There’s basically no explanation for it. They meet, barely interact, and are acting like lovesick teenagers in no time. The love interest started out as an interesting character but once they show interest in the mc they turn into a shy fan girl with no mind of her own.
Great story. I like the starting older version over jumping into a younger person so far. Hilarious writing in the beginning. Couldn’t stop laughing due to me being 37 a year younger than his new age lol
