Disappear: The Daisy Black Story

Daisy Black is a sixteen-year-old girl with a seemingly perfect life. Daisy is a talented dancer and fashion influencer. She has titles such as Junior and Teen Miss Dance as well as Miss Teen California. Everything Daisy sets her mind to, she accomplishes without fail. Some would say Daisy is a perfectionist, always having to do everything to a T. Daisy started dancing when she was only two years old. Daisy used to really love dance. She loved competing and winning giant trophies. She took pride in hearing her name announced as the top scorer for every competition. That was up until she turned thirteen. She started to suffer dancer burnout and dance was no longer a fun after school activity where she could compete alongside her friends, it became a job. A responsibility. The more Daisy won, the more people started expecting from her but it was also the more people wanted to see her crash and burn but Daisy couldn’t let that happen because she didn’t want to let down her coach, her teammates or her mother. The pressure to stay on top and to always be the best was weighing more and more on Daisy each day and she knew she was coming closer and closer to breaking. It was for this reason why Daisy often envied her younger sister. Dana did not dance but she was in cheerleading but not because she had to be the best for anyone but because she liked parading around in a short skirt and she liked the gymnastics. Dana did things for herself on her own time, something Daisy could never do.
