Synopsis
A high-school couple enters a limousine with a man that tells them they must prevent an apocalyptic fate from happening to a futuristic world. Given psychic powers to assist them on their journey, the only people they can trust in this new world is each other.

Epic of Nocturne is not terrible for a first novel, however, it's far from amazing. There are many grammatical errors, many of which come from the author's obsession with using commas instead of periods, colons, or semicolons. Not a lot of time is spent in the real world with Claire and Faust, leaving their relationship awfully rushed. Instead of showing us how they grow close and eventually begin a romance, the author instead has them make a death pact out of nowhere and tells us they are suddenly together. The characters themselves are also very cliched at the current point in the story, boiling down to "generic anime protagonist" and "not-like-other-girls love interest," which is only worsened by the lack of other real characters. Faust and Claire's dialogue and actions aren't realistic, such as when they display almost no emotion when being told they must leave everything behind and risk their lives in an unknown world. As of right now, I do not consider this to be good, however, I am interested to see more aspects of the new world.

As of right now it is too early to decide whether this will become a well written, well fleshed out story. However, as of the fourth chapter there are signs of promise. The characters seem to be well thought out and the conversations seem believable. I look forward to how this story will progress and hope that the world building will match the character quality!
