Synopsis
The rise of a young Fire Nation commander Xing, a survivor of a village attack-turned prodigious firebending colonel of the Fire Nation's 11th Regiment.
Taking place not long before canon, Xing seeks to keep his adoptive family in the Fire Nation military as safe, sound, and sharp as he can, even as the pieces of the puzzle that is the main story start to fall in place around him, the biggest of which is Princess Azula joining the 11th in their military duties around the Earth Kingdom.

Just started reading this fanfiction, and currently I'm on chapter 20, but wow is this good. When reading any novel, I find it very easy to identify the things that are wrong with it and since WebNovel allows you to comment on paragraphs, I tend to identify them and call them out as I go... 20 chapters in, and I'm loving this; didn't even realized when I reached that chapter.
The good: The writing quality of this fanfiction is top notch. From grammar to punctuation, there are virtually no mistakes that I have caught. The characters seemed very interesting and got fleshed out as the story progressed. Xing’s progression throughout the story was fantastic to read as he went from soldier, to colonel and kept racking up various achievements and titles. The bad: I disliked how sometimes there would be chapters where Xing would be put on the sidelines and the story would shift towards a side characters POV. This is personal preference, but when the MC is sidelined for multiple chapters, it starts to get boring. Personally, I unfortunately dropped this series at chapter 88 and I will be expanding on that more. Towards the end of the series, Xing starts to do some outlandish feats that should probably be only reserved for the Avatar. Single-handedly taking on an army is pretty outlandish even with Xing’s unique bending approach. Finally, what lead me to drop is that I found out in a chapter comment there is yuri. I really wish this was included in the tags or synopsis. I knew there was a harem tag from the beginning and obviously assumed it would be Xing with multiple other partners (I’m a harem degen and even I started to want only Azula x Xing). Considering this, I really think the author dropped the ball with the ending of this series and tanked the relationships. The yuri pairing especially does not make sense at all to me considering what Xing and Azula have been through and taking their supposed personalities into account. Overall, if you are an ATLA fan, I would highly recommend checking this novel out as long as you don’t mind the bad aspects I mentioned in this post (bad is obviously subjective to everyone though). Definitely one of the more professionally written stories I have read on here even though it ended up not being my taste.
I honestly suprised how good this is. Just started reading today stop a 30 left and came back to 30 more chapters added unless this was stole from somewhere else, you are a amazing author

İ must say this is how would original work would be if MC were in that story too one of Best fan fic of atla. There is no making characters more naive, impotent or changing them and storyline consistent and logical too. For harem it would be spoiler but There is no harem only romance only in the end There would be a 3rd
: Chapter 23 have been reading this for hours, enjoying it alot, great character portrayal and likable OC's. only flaw is that it gets a bit confusing with the POV's and the remembering of who the character was but since I am binging it rn i have no problem adjusting quickly to that with context clues
[ROMANCE RELATED SPOILERS BELOW] Honestly just a great story. First time I’ve ever seen a story where it more so seems to emphasize the thoughts of side characters and I don’t think I ever saw Xing’s 1st pov which is kinda insane. My ONLY complaint is the literal random harem at the very end. It was oddly enough well done but the harem itself was completely out of nowhere. This was set to be a Xing x Azula for what seems to be 130ish chapters with unrequited love coming from Suki before she is turned away to find her own happiness. Then all of a sudden, Azula is bi and wants anything for Xing to be happy, including more lovers? Final chapter even throws in Ty Lee? Even with the suddenness of the harem, like I said, it was oddly well written even with it being random in my opinion. Again, this was an amazing story, well written plot, introduced characters and their backstories well, showed the relationships between the characters well, and some really good grammar for a fanfic. Can’t recommend this story enough.

I love this Fic! It hits all the right spots in what I like reading. My only regret from reading it? Now I cant help but compare it to everything else and realizing just how better this Fic is. Great work Author-San! P.S:I need more chaps or else I’m gonna die of no chapter illness. A common disease that causes Chronic insomnia while waiting for new chapters.

This book is extremely well crafted. The characters have character arcs that make logical sense; and the story adds elements that only enhance ATLA very big world.
Whenever someone writes a story about Avatar, he is either native of the Fire Nation, or he is a native of the fire nation. Avatar's lick dog becomes 3 naive children who only growl. They should all be killed first.
