Synopsis
[Horror Game Developer : My games really aren't that scary!]
I hate horror.
From the skittering sounds of footsteps racing behind me, to the soft yet unnervingly cold whispers curling around my ears...
All of it.
I hate it.
So much so that I start puking whenever I reach a certain threshold.
And yet, I am a Horror Game Developer.
A crappy one at that.
So, given my lack of ability, I decided to quit.
And yet...
[Congratulations, you've been selected for the Horror Game Developer System!]
Nope, I don't want it.
Let me quit.
※ Note : Your world might experience some changes. But don't worry! It's part of the game!
***
This is a story about a game developer who hates horror, but has no choice but to develop games scary enough to traumatize people.
You want to curse me for making you piss your pants?
If that's the case, who do I curse?

An SCP inspired story with its own twist!

Write a reviewI didn't even have time to read it yet. I just saw that one of my favorite authors published another novel and that's enough for me to become instantly interested I loved both Advent and TAPOV, I have faith in Entrail that I feel the same way about this one as well! Good luck to the author!
Didn't really expect a new novel from Entrail, and it's horror on top of that!! After reading the first 5 chapters, I feel like the concept is pretty good. And If you haven't already, you should try reading My House Of Horrors, it's probably the best horror novel I've read. You might get some inspiration from it. And although i know it's too early to ask, but what's the release schedule for this novel?
Since Entrail is the one writing this horror story, we already know it’s going to be amazing. Going three for three in writing novels is a feat that not many can achieve, but he can.
it's a bit too early to leave a proper review, but who cares? since it's been written by the goat himself, we all know it's gonna be peak! and the horror genre at that! if only webnovel had some good Ai voices like the ones from elvenl@b, it'd be awesome! imagine listening to a first person pov horror written by entrail_ji? it's to die for. thank you for writing this author nim :)
If character suffering were an Olympic sport, Entrail would’ve won gold, silver, and emotionally scarred the judges
T.W:Do not read this at night Wow I'm once again left speechless by your ability to immerse me in your world Entrail. While I hate horror and avoid it like a plague I have no choice but to read this.
This is my first time truly getting into a horror novel, and I have to say, despite having relatively few chapters, it has genuinely impressed me. It managed to keep me patiently on edge, scared yet eager to see what happens next. In my opinion, this novel has the potential to rise to the top. The current rating doesn’t reflect how good it really is, it deserves more recognition. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a thrill and wanting to feel their blood pumping.
This is simply the textbook definition of peak fiction. The plot is not stale, characters are real, and everything seems to culminate together overtime to elivate the quality of the work. In my opinion, this is currently the greatest webnovel. It has a quality that the author brings which separates it from other webnovels.
Great story. Reminds me a lot of "Got Dropped into a Ghost Story, Still Gotta Work". I feel like the title might be a bit misleading though. So far it really seems to revolve more around the MC completing these horror scenarios than the actual game development. Though that might change in the future
Extremely similar to “Got dropped into a ghost story, still gotta work”, to the point where I initially thought it was just a carbon copy. Thankfully it does derail from it slightly and the mc does eventually start working on furthering his games + using his system. Due to it taking massive amounts of inspiration from ‘got dropped into a ghost story, still gotta work’ the start is great. The quick redesign of the world as well as some of the characters from his novels make the world pretty interesting. Although, like I said previously it’s still pretty similar, but considering how good the inspiration is the novel is still pretty good. This Author always takes a ton of concepts from other works then tries to ‘change’ them around to fit his own idea. I would say that this one is a lot better than his other works, but it’s hard to say how exactly this one will turn out when the author fully develops his novel to the point where he can’t copy and paste, or shift around some ideas. Tldr: Novel it’s inspired by is great, so this is also pretty good. Although the novel does take a different route near the end, it’s hard to say whether or not the novels quality will stay the same. Read if you like ‘horror’ and works similar to it.
Publish both chapters at the same time goddammit!!! I can't get enough of this dam novel! I don't usually do reviews, but this one deserves a review: I came upon the author's other novels before and didn't read them due to a, imo, stupid reason, i.e. the chapter title being drawn across several chapters. Usually seen in Chinese novels where a single chapter is 10k+ words so translators have to break them down to several chapters. Thankfully, I didn't do the same in this novel. 115 chapters in and I am glad I picked this up. Basically, this novel isn't the type of horror that gives you psychological pressure (readers of my house of horror understand what psychological pressure means). However, the MC feels every bit of horror there is, and that is enough for the reader, imo. The MC's interactions with horror makes you laugh sometimes btw. It's not a comprehensive review because I don't feel that 115 are enough to show the depths of the novel, so far he hasn't moved from the "city" he's in, nor has he explored the world dynamics that he's in, yet, this can be attributed to how weak he is. Not a con though, despite me hating slow novels (and by slow I mean something like this one, 100 chapters and not yet strong enough to destroy the world?), I didn't get bored from a single chapter. I practice the dao of stacking, yet this novel keeps giving me inner demons and forces me to deviate from my path every 20 chapters stacked.. (I can stack up to 500 btw) Overall, highly recommended, only if author publishes 10chs/day though. [img=update][img=strong]
I’ve read up to chapter 178, and I can wholeheartedly tell you that this is a good story, great even. Things that I liked: - It’s interesting. The story is unique and refreshing. - The writing quality is superb and among the best on the site. - The updates are consistent. Things that I didn’t like: - The world building is lacking. There’s not much information about the world that the story takes place in. Even after reading nearly 200 chapters, I couldn’t even tell you what city/ island the story’s based in and what the history of the city is. - The main character can be irking at times. Seth, the main character, is an overall good mc. He’s blunt, funny and definitely relatable (which you can’t say about a lot of mcs on this app). However, put simply, he’s just kind of gross. The author puts a lot of effort in describing how unlikable Seth is to the other characters. He’s always smelly as he rarely takes showers, he always looks like a mess and he always gets disgusted looks from other characters. Hey, it was funny the first time the author mentioned it, but it lost its charm pretty quick. - The plot can get repetitve without much interest. As the later chapters arrived, it felt like the story was just repeating itself. He gets a quest for a monster, uncovers the story behind it, then makes a game for it. I feel like there is so much potential for other avenues that could be explored. For example, a bubbling love interest that could provide another potential challenge. Maybe it could be a stoic, rugged team leader, who secretly is a fangirl of him, or a supernatural entity who gets creepily attached to him and he has to figure out his feelings. -Linking back to the previous point, there is absoloutely zero romance. If thats what you like, good for you. Seth doesnt get any female attention, and if he does, it’s out of repulsion. —— My dislikes may appear like they outweigh the likes, but the story is definitely more positive than negative. I couldn’t stop reading, the writing is just too good. In conclusion, you should give this book a try.
Author Entrail_JI
The Author's POV, Advent, and now Horror Game Developer. Entrail is one of the very few authors who can touch any genre and make it his own. Those who are already familiar with the author don't need an invitation to know this is gonna be a banger. As for the rest... dive in. :)
