Koji was a skilled soldier in 21st century Japan, but during a routine raid his life was cut short by an enemy sniper. As his soul departed his body, Koji found himself before a mysterious entity. "Your time in the mortal realm has ended, but a new path awaits if you are willing," the figure spoke. Koji accepted, and was reborn into a fantastical new world.

In this land, a secretive order known only as "The Guild" trains the deadliest assassins alive. Each recruit is granted a set of magical Tarot cards upon joining, imbuing them with supernatural abilities. Koji drew a high-ranking card, indicating great potential. However, he would have to purge his emotions and learn to kill without hesitation if he wished to rise through the ranks.

Under the tutelage of the no-nonsense mentor Daisuke, Koji began to embrace his new identity as an assassin. But his soldier's heart still longed for purpose and justice. As he takes lives with increasing proficiency, Koji wonders if he can mold this killer body and lethal skills toward a higher goal than mere contracts and coin. His destiny is only beginning to unfold in this deadly new world of magic, murder and intrigue.
