Onnai considered his life blatantly boring, worthless and unimportant. He had no real drive for anything, he had no interest in the ways of the world, the screwed up system, everything. The government was backwards, the economy was falling apart, and inflation made life impossible. Onnai had no wish to be a part of such a world. And so, he decided. On his eighteenth birthday, he'd kill himself. That was his decision.

But then, the unexpected happened.

In his world, there are things called the Kokkaku, human variants that have their own bone structures change, the skeleton piercing through the skin and creating an exoskeleton unique to the Kokkaku. No two Kokkaku have the same exida, which is the term used for their exoskeletons.

Now, Onnai's life was shattered, yet, he didnt have the urge to Kill himself anymore... he found himself fascinated in his own existence.

But now, with his best friend, a girl named Yamari, he has to run from the humans hunting him down to experiment on him and try to find what makes him tick.

But there is much, much more going on that Onnai doesn't even realize...
