Synopsis
The story begins with Laura Bennet, the beautiful daughter of a wealthy merchant family. She is being forced into a contract marriage to the eldest son of the noble 'Seo' Clan, Seo Jin.
But as if being forced into a loveless marriage wasn't enough, Laura discovers on her wedding night that she might be a witch, an existence outlawed and abhorred by all.
For many years the continent of Talaria was ravaged by war because of the 'Crimson Coven', a group of exceptional witches vying for control of the lands.
When the Witch Queen Minerva came to power there was hope for peace but her abominable armies began marching on the kingdoms of men.
All hope seemed lost until the Kingdom of Mei stepped in with a handful of warriors they called the 'Witch Hunters'. They were the only ones able to withstand the might and terrifying powers of the 'Crimson Coven'.
The coven fell and the Minerva was killed by the most powerful Witch Hunter to have ever lived, Tiamet.
The Treaty of 'Seven Kings' was signed and all unsanctioned magic was outlawed and the magical creatures were brought under the strict control of the remaining kingdoms.
Now, nearly a decade later, the world has seen great change. Humans prosper and live their best lives within the great seven kingdoms (as long as they are not of the magical kind). But things begin to take a turn for the worse as you will discover along with the main characters.

Hello, here I am once again with the obligatory 5-star review. (You can reach me on this discord which I started for my other book: discord.gg/ AHdSBFQ) A bit about the novel and what you should expect from it. Technically it has two main characters, Laura the main female lead, and Seo Jin the main male lead. The novel will progress from both of their viewpoints simultaneously but it should be noted that it's also about the world they live in and how it affects them (and vice versa). The overall tone of the novel will be rather relaxed (comparatively), and there is obviously a main theme but in between all those big events there will also be a lot of banter and things going about in their day-to-day lives. At its core, it is very much a romance novel despite what it might read like occasionally. Some of the themes will be quite dark but that's just how the real world is. You can't have the good without the bad. PS: pay attention to some of the dialogue and phrasing of side characters, they allude to the world events that might appear much later. The novel will be relatively long but it all depends on how popular it is, I can't give it too much time early on but one thing is for certain, I'm not a quitter (My main novel with 1300+ chapters is still ongoing).
