Sandbox of Life

When David loses his job as a software engineer, he decides to move to the countryside and start over. He buys a rundown farmhouse with a large backyard, where he finds an old sandbox covered by a tarp. Curious, he removes the tarp and discovers a strange device with buttons and dials attached to the sandbox. He soon realizes that the device can control the sandbox, which is actually a miniature world with its own physics and biology. He can change the terrain, the climate, the gravity, and even introduce bacteria and other microorganisms into the sandbox. He can also speed up or slow down time, allowing him to observe the evolution of life in the sandbox.
