Synopsis

The mundane shatters with a single touch.

On his 18th birthday, Brayden is tested for his magic powers, like all young adults in the utopian city of Astralis. Yet his dreams of a glorious future are crushed once he turns out to be normal... ordinary.

However, his hidden talents manifest only days later. As he explores his newfound powers and the city itself, he pulls away the curtain to uncover the city's true, horrific nature, as well as his own future.

Okay so, i read it on Kindle. Writing a review here for the moment the whole story arrives on webnovel, and to speak my mind about it. So i really enjoyed the story, i feel like it's a mix between regular fantasy growing up story, and classic SF (dystopia at the heart of the matter). Overall i enjoyed it, maybe more for the dystopian SFish part than the growing up character evolution one. Also, i liked all this thing around paintings, i enjoyed the symbolics of it once i figured out what they were standing for (at least what i think they're standing for) So yeah good read overall, maybe a bit short (i guess that's a compliment in a sense :D ). I feel like you could have gone deeper on things either character development/philosophy, or slowing down the discovery of the truth (or both).
