Lucifer who never cared about anything other than his mission (which is To steal, kill and destroy humanity) knew he needed Itzel. He needed her to always get the better of every evil assignment he set out to achieve.

She was like a weaker version of him.
She was good at what they do. And he wouldn't loose her. He would gain her back even if it requires bringing hell to earth.
