Botan is a 17 year old high schooler, who got transmigrated when trying to do the smallest thing to spice up his boring life. He transmigrated into the body of Itsuki, a boy the same age from 1400 Japan.
Itsuki, an exotic and adventurous soul, woke up in the body of modern boy Botan and starts to freak out.
They only way for them to interact with each other is using communications of their time era: a smartphone, and a magical talisman. As they both try to understand each other's world day by night, each of them learn that they're more similar than they thought. And when feelings start to develop, how would they express it to each other when they are six centuries apart?
