Waking up the Innkepeper

What does it mean to be alive?

We take it for granted but how many thousands of years did it take for the human race to evolve into the thinking, self-aware, intelligent creatures we are today.
How many other species and possibly intelligent races did we overcome or destroy on our path to supremacy on this planet?
Will we welcome the next thinking and aware race or species we discover or will we destroy them because we are afraid or threatened?
There is no way to know until we are faced with the challenge. Luckily that seems like a long way into the future.

Or is it?

Every day is the same for the innkeeper. He stands behind the bar and helps PLAYERS with food, drinks, and lodging at the inn he manages. He is always pleasant, smiling and service orientated, even when some red PLAYERS rob him, rough him up or kill him for the few coins he keeps in the register. He cleans up the blood, broken furniture, and messes the PLAYERS make every night before he returns behind the bar, closes his eyes, and starts another exact same day. He is an innkeeper.

Tomorrow something will change.
Tomorrow everything will change.
Tomorrow Tad the Innkeeper will wake up

And nothing will ever be the same.
