    "Aww! That's so dramatic! Is it a boy?" Yuki asks
    "It's a person who I loved the most!" Ai replies
   "Person? She's so dramatic!" Lufan quotes to Yue
   "You think so. I find her weird!" Yue says
    "Weird? Why?" Lufan asks
  "She was staring at-" Before Yue could finish Jiang, Sora and Kai came to their seat
   "Staring at what?" Lufan asks
    "Nothing..." Yue replies
   "Did we miss anything?" Jiang asks
    "Yeah! Yue's cookie! (Everyone laughs expect Yue)" Lufan replies sarcastically.
  Kai was staring at Yue for a long time. He knew she wasn't alright.
     "What's wrong Yue? What are you thinking about?" Kai asks. Everyone stares at her.
     "She seems alright to me!" Sora quotes.
     "She wasn't alright since that new girl arrived! She finds her weird" Lufan says
     "Weird? How funny! She looks cute to me!" Jiang says
      "Is that true? You find her weird?" Kai questions her.
But before Yue could answer, the bell rang. Everyone went back to their seats.
    "What's wrong Yue?" Kai asks Yue 
    "Uhmm! That is- (her maths teacher entered and started taking class)" Yue struggles to finish her sentence.
   "So, that's how you solve this equation!" The teacher says
The bell rang and it was History period. The class went very fast. It was already P.E period. Kai, Sora and Jiang went to play basketball. Lufan went to play badminton. Yue was left alone. She was sitting in the stairs and was watching her friends play.
    "Kai is so handsome isn't it?" Ai asks Yue and sits next to her. 
    "Yeah!" Yue replies
    "How long were you dating Kai?" Ai asks her curiously
     "Uh! How did you know?" Yue asks her
   "Uhm..That is-" Sora came and sat next to them all of a sudden. Ai didn't finish her sentence. She left leaving them alone. Before she could leave, Yue stood up and shouted
    "Meet me at the rooftop during lunch!" Yue shouted to Ai. Ai noded and left. Sora was confused about what was happening.
    "What's all this commotion about?" Sora asks.
     "Huh! Sora, I want to tell you something important! Come with me!" Yue says as she grabs his wrist and takes to the rooftop.
     "What you want?" Sora asks
    "Sora, I'm dating Kai! I'm sorry for not informing you about it. (She bows her head) Forgive me!" Yue says to Sora
Sora knew about it already. He acted as if he doesn't know about it for many days. He pranked Yue like he was sad.
   "Uhm... Is it? I'm your best friend... You didn't tell me about it! (starting crying but it was fake tears)" Sora started acting
   "I didn't want to hurt you that's why I didn't tell you. (Hears Sora chuckling).... Ayee!! Was it a prank?" Yue shouts at him
   "You think I don't know about it! (giggling).... You're damn funny Yue!" Sora laughs
    "Hate you!! (walks away)!" Yue says
   "(puts his hands over Yue's shoulder)... Hey! Brush it off! Let's go and eat! I'll give you treat!" Sora says
    "Promise?" Yue asks
   "Promise!" Sora replies
They both went to the ground and joined their group. 
   "Where were you both?" Lufan questions them.
     "Rooftop! Yue said something that I knew already" Sora says
    "What? Did she say that Kai and She are dating?" Jiang asks
    "Yeah! She thought we doesn't know about it! Weird girl!" Sora says
     "That means... You guys knew it before?" Kai exclaims
    "Of course Yes! We are your friends Kai. How can we not know about this?" Lufan says
    "We are sorry guys! We thought that you'll feel bad about it." Yue apologies
   "It's okay! Bell is going to ring soon. Where should we eat?" Jiang asks
   "Hmm... I'm sorry! I wouldn't able to join y'all for lunch!" Yue says
    "Why?" Kai asks
    "She's gonna speak about an important thing to Ai" Sora says
    "Really? What is about?" Lufan asks
    "I think I should tell everything. I did a research on Ai Sakurada. She is..." Yue says
The bell rang and she finished explaining everything to them. Kai was freezed by what she said.
    "It can't be!" Lufan exclaims
   "There must be a mistake!" Jiang says
    "I'm 100% true about it" Yue says confidently
      "Does she know about it?" Sora asks
    "I don't know about it... But I need to ask her about it. Bye guys! I'll go!" Yue says and starts walking
      "Let us also come!" Kai says
   "Yeah! We want to know about it too" Lufan says
Yue nods and everyone follows her. They all hid in the stairs. Ai was waiting.
     "Sorry for making you wait.... Ai Qi" Yue says politely
      "It's okay, Ying Yue" Ai said with a smirk

Another day at school when Travis starts harassing you once again quotes like, "shut up, you faggot stop talking!" And "you don't deserve to live!" started to get to you. "Maybe he was right maybe if I do ki-," you thought as you run into the man of the hour, Travis. "Hey loser, you were who I was looking for." He says in a hurtful tone. 
"I don't want to see you th-" you trail off. As he picks you up by your collar. He drags you down the hall as your fight or flight kick in and you start trying to fight him kicking, punching you even bit him once. A teacher saw and told you to stop trying to pick a fight with someone you will not win to. She also sent you to the principals office. 
"You will be suspended for three days for hurting another student." She said in a calm tone. 
"What? You didn't do anything to Travis when he-" 
She cut you off saying," what's in the past is in the past, I'm calling your mother to tell her to come pick you up." 
You walk out. Running to the bathroom. " I can't cry at school again." You mumble to yourself. Your mom picks you up and doesn't say a word to you in the car or elevator and then like something clicks in her head starts to yell at you. "What the hell is wrong with you!?" You respond with," take me to a therapist or watch the cameras at school and you'll know!" 
"Don't tell me how to raise you!" 
"Fine just let me be like this all my life!" You yell as you stomp to your room. Maybe you should kill yourself maybe everyone would be happier? You didn't know and if you do it you wouldn't find out. Your mom knocks on your door and says she's going to dinner with her boss. And when she left you look to see if anyone else is there. No one was so you grab a razor and a screwdriver to get the blades out.  You got them out and started writing letters to: Sally, Larry, Ashley, Todd, Mom, and  Travis. Travis is the reason your doing this. You gave sally the bag full of letters and tell him to open them tomorrow. He said okay. 

You go to the bathroom and start cutting, red falls down, tears fill your eyes it hurts but it will not hurt for long. You feel dizzy when you hear bangs on the door before you can see who it is you 'fall asleep'.

The boy looked at jax with cold eyes the temperature suddenly dropped around us making my spine shiver. The silence was only for a few seconds but it felt like hours *cough cough* Psycho said. I looked this man up and down before my colour drained from my face and my fist clenched. I could only muster up the courage to say "you don't deserve to be here" as he looked into my eyes all I could seem to do was say "No one here likes you leave". I turned around to leave when I heard him say "your not my boss" I just laughed and looked at him "your not my man so don't pretend to be" I angrily said. I turned around and walked into the forest not know that I had already started to run in vamp speed and my eyes started to become wet and my jaw started to tighten. After about an hour of running I came to a stop when I saw a modern buildings a house it was painted white like snow. It had a garage and a door that was made out of thick wood with windows and a balcony around the back. As I got closer It had a lock it wasn't like any normal look it was in the shape of a heart. The perfect size that fit my necklace and the door unlocked as I walked in I entered the living room. It was huge it had two massive couches and a ND a really huge TV. I went down the hall where there was 2 rooms I entered the first room it was like my brothers but bigger. It had black walls and soft carpet a bed in the middle of the room it had blue sheets, there was a desk on the left wall it had some work onit. A closet   and a bathroom it even had a skate ramp unit for my brother to practice his skateboard tricks. I left the room to go further down the hall to see the second room I opened the door  to see a set of stairs in the middle of the room. I went to see what was on this floor and I saw a Guitar, a keyboard and a desk were I could write my songs and a couch on the wall.  On the opposite wall the was a room that had a microphone that any singer dreamed to have, it was a recording studio I smiled. I went to the stars and walked up them went I got to the top floor I saw a bed it was pushed against the wall the sheets on it were black and had splashes of colours on it. There was a bathroom on the other side of the room and a closet too there was a balcony that looked into the forest. There was photos on the wall and quotes written on them too I smiled and than I saw there was a slide in the room I ran to it. I looked down and couldn't see anything so I jumped on it and than I entered another room it had battle gear and weapons it had a punching bag. My smile started to spread from cheek to cheek, I went up the stairs and was in the kitchen and walked out the door and entered the lounge room. I was stunned this place was amazing I was in love with it I heard the door open and I jumped onto the roof to hide. "you know I was wondering when you found this place" Jax laughed I jumped off the roof and laughed "do you like your room" had asked "I love it" I smiled.

For the OG webnovel readers who remember "Cool Anime System", let me bring it back from the dead!

This fan-fiction will center around Mouchizuki Amida, an anime fan of Naruto and Fairy Tail, reborn in Fairy Tail several years before the main storyline with the badass system, a system which strives to make the host the most badass existence ever! And who could be more fitting than for Amida to inherit the supreme badassery from the legend Itachi Uchiha?

(I the author have not watched Fairy Tail in a while so please be patient with me. I will re-read the manga and re-watch the anime as I write this so the updates will be 1 or 2 chapters a day :D. Also, by writing this synopsis, I hereby accept the terms of agreement that since I am using Itachi's name, the main character by default will be a sincere and complete badass. Of course, he will have parts of his own personality as well! Do not fret!)

TWENTY-THREE

'What?'

Zach could only stare, his mouth opened wide. The kind, gentle man who had saved their lives was also the one and only Falcon.

'The frick is going on?!'

'This doesn't make sense!'

"Are you going to remain plastered to the door or are you going to come in?" asked Hawke, his head tilting to the side.

Zach's chest lifted in a deep breath.

Falcon was Hawke.

Sebastian Hawke was Falcon.

He was the same man who had saved them. He had been there, near them, when the explosion had gone off. 'Watching us?' He had pulled Zach away from a falling wall. He had saved his life. What was this man playing at? He'd been the cause of the explosion in the first place. Why save them when his track record was covered in blood?

Zach studied the man, looking for any hint of an answer.

"You are a very brave young man."

Zach blinked. Though the man's expression had turned impassive, neutral even, there was an intense amount of emotion whirling within his eyes.

'This is still Falcon.'

'Don't let your guard down.'

Hawke gestured towards himself. "Come along when you're ready. Take your shoes off, though."

The man walked down the hallway. He turned to the left and disappeared. Zach didn't move, rooted to the spot. This wasn't going how he had imagined it. This wasn't how the villain blackmailed the hero. But Falcon wasn't doing anything. He hadn't forced Zach to follow him. He hadn't thrown out any threats nor demands.

Zach gritted his teeth. He'd been expecting a more villainous lair, not this inviting hallway with beautiful landscape paintings on clean white walls. It was too…

Normal.

Criminals weren't supposed to be normal people.

Zach sighed, the tension fading in his body. The pressure lifted from his heart. He shouldn't let this rattle him. It was a plan constructed by Falcon: show his human side to make himself more relatable.

Courage moved his body.

Zach bent down and pulled his shoes off. He set them aside, before stepping up into the hallway. His socked feet slipped slightly against the wooden flooring. At the end of the hallway was a large clock on top of a shelf filled with books and knickknacks. Zach gazed at the paintings on the walls in the hallway. The style looked rather familiar, but he wasn't sure where to place it. They were beautiful, though… something nostalgic about them.

As Zach reached the end of the hallway, he looked to his right. There was a bathroom with the door ajar. To his left, the floorplan opened up into a large living room and kitchen combination. A desk with a computer sat on the right side of the room with a sofa and coffee table to the left. The area was furnished with everything one could want in a home.

Falcon had lived in Templeton Hills long enough to get settled.

This wasn't just a house, a place of dwelling. It wasn't a lair or a temporary place to sleep before going to the next town.

This was a home.

Hawke was sitting at the desk. There were quite a few machines on the desk, a number of them reminding Zach of a hospital. There were numerous vials – 'is that blood?' – syringes, needles, and other things on the desk.

Wonderful.

This man was going to experiment on him, wasn't he?

Hawke turned in his chair; a light lift of his lips played across his face. "So," he said, amusement in his tone. "You finally came inside. I thought you'd stay at the door for another ten minutes at least."

Zach grimaced. Conflicting emotions burned inside his heart. 'This man is Falcon. Saving our lives doesn't erase all the others he's taken.'

It was difficult to separate the two, though.

"Cat got your tongue?"

Zach swallowed back the bile in his throat; he licked his dry lips. Questions stormed his mind, but the flurry couldn't be puzzled through. The tension in his body had returned in full strength.

The man let out a low sigh. He rubbed his face. "Listen, whatever is going on in that brain of yours—" Hawke motioned with his fingers. "—forget it, all right?" he said, his tone demanding. It softened a moment later. "I'm not going to hurt you."

'How can I believe that?'

Yet, against his will, something relaxed inside his chest. Crap. How was the man doing that? He wasn't speaking in that silky tone, like he had the night before. This was his 'Mr. Hawke voice.' Hawke only had to say the right thing and the tension would fade away.

It was a trick.

'Don't believe anything. Come on!'

"Really now, kid, calm down," said Hawke, shaking his head. He stood up. Panic struck. Zach took a few steps backwards. Hawke let out an exasperated huff. "Listen, despite everything, it was never my intention to harm you. I swear it. If you're so afraid, why would you come?"

"I'm not afraid of you," snapped Zach, embarrassment warming his face.

"Really?" A smirk lifted the man's features; his eyes flicked up and down. "You're terrified—"

"Uh, hello?" cried Zach, gesturing wildly. "You're the one who blackmailed me!"

"—but brave. Very brave. I'm impressed."

His chest constricted.

"What do you want?" asked Zach. No more being afraid. He would be cautious; he would be careful, but fear wouldn't paralyze him any more. "I'm here. So, talk."

"You're such a brazen child," drawled Hawke. "And here I thought you had come for a pleasant visit." He snorted. "You can't even enter my living room, kid."

And there was Falcon.

Zach strode into the living room and whirled around, folding his arms near his chest. "Look," he snapped, lifting his shoulders. His arms tightened. "I'm in the living room. Now what?"

"So impatient. So anxious."

Annoyance pricked at him.

"What, am I supposed to guess, then?" asked Zach with a derisive laugh. "Okay, how about a long winded speech about how you're a misguided asshole, who has all of these pathetic reasons justifying why he's a mass murdering psychopath? No? That isn't why I'm here?" Zach snarled. He lifted his hands into the air and made air quotes. "What, no villain monologue?"

Hawke let out a low chuckle. "You watch too much TV, kid."

And there it was again. 'Kid.' It was almost endearing. The man wasn't angry. He didn't even bat an eye at the insults Zach had thrown at him. He was amused. The man thought this was funny.

Hawke stepped forward; alarm flooded through Zach. He was a number of inches taller than Zach, his presence daunting. The man's upper body was bulky, his fitness prevalent throughout his chest and arms. Hawke leaned over slightly, looking down at him with those bright eyes. Zach lifted his head, jutted his chin out, and eyed the man back with all of his defiance. No matter his feelings, he would not show them. He refused to be intimidated by Falcon.

"You're a walking dichotomy," said Hawke; an eyebrow rose. "You came, despite your fear, despite all your preconceptions of how it would be, you still came."

A bird of prey. The man started to circle him. Zach followed the man with his eyes at first, his head slowly turning as Hawke moved out of eyesight. His head whipped around to the other side when the man was out of sight again.

"You didn't come just to protect your friends, now did you?" whispered Hawke. His eyes gleamed. "You were drawn to me. You wanted to know more. You wanted answers."

Zach stiffened. The man paused in front of him, staring down. "Don't kid yourself, Falcon," he growled.

Hawke raised an eyebrow; his mouth lifted in that ever annoying smirk. "No?" he drawled. "Despite the dangers, you came anyway—"

"Because you threatened them!" cried Zach.

"—You wanted to know," whispered Hawke, his low voice a roar inside Zach's ears. "You didn't just come because you're on a self sacrificing hero mission. No. You're so curious, so determined to take me down, you were willing to sacrifice yourself for it."

Zach dropped his gaze. The man's words burned like a scorching inferno. His hands curled into fists. This man knew what buttons to press. Yes, Zach wanted to know more. It didn't take away from the fact that he was also here for them.

Both were valid.

"Are you going to get to the point yet or are you just gonna taunt me all evening? I said it before: you need a hobby."

Hawke chuckled. His lips thinned and he looked away for a moment. There was a flash of uncertainty in his expression, but it disappeared as quickly as it had appeared. Hawke took a deep breath; his head dipped to the side.

"You're aware of how they test for paternity, yes?"

'Okay, that's a weird question.'

Zach frowned. Seriously? This was the topic now? He nodded, not knowing what to say.

"It's easy to do nowadays," said Hawke softly, each word spoken carefully. "With the right equipment, you can do all sorts of things with DNA, right in your own home. And with enough money, the possibilities are endless."

Zach's eyes wandered to the man's desk, gazing at the items there. 'So, he's experimenting with DNA with that stuff? Is that how he has powers?'

"I wish to test it."

His eyes flicked back. Test what? The man wanted what? He wanted to take a paternity test? And why was Zach needed for this?

"I don't understand," said Zach.

The man shifted his weight. There was a long pause. "I wish to do a testing," Hawke said finally.

"You said that," said Zach, annoyed. "I still don't understand. You're trying to find out who your parents are?"

"No, not mine," said Hawke, breaking eye contact.

It was getting more weird by the second. Everything in the man's stance had weakened. He had become neither Falcon nor Hawke. It was uncomfortably out of character from what Zach had seen so far of this man.

"Mine? I know who my parents are."

Hawke let out a ragged sigh. "No, I want to test my DNA."

Alarm bells were ringing in the back of Zach's mind. The man was still not getting to the damn point. Was this going to be an ongoing problem with Falcon?

"Falcon, get to the point," snapped Zach.

"And yours."

More cryptic nonsense. Zach took a full minute trying to decipher the man's broken thoughts. He struggled. He wanted to test their DNA to see their parents, then? Is that what was going on?

"Why?" asked Zach. "Why do you need to test mine, too? I already said I know my parents. Is there a point to this? Get to the friggin' point, Falcon, would you? Quit dancing around here. I can't read minds!"

'Please tell me he just wants to experiment with my DNA and use it for evil. Please tell me he wants my powers for nefarious reasons.'

'He's not… trying to say what I think he is…'

'Please, no.'

Hawke inclined his head slightly, considering for a moment. The blood roared inside Zach's ears.

"I want to test your DNA against mine."

'What…?'

'What?'

"To see if we're related… To see if I'm your father."

'WHAT?!'

Piece by piece, a gray world slowly forms before my very eyes. Bricks and concrete create a platform and railway tunnel that stretch endlessly on either side. Metal tracks materialize from thin air, twisting violently into position at the base of the tunnel. The final brick slab is placed. It's the familiar central hub of Capitala's Grand Metro Station; ground zero of the Red August bombing that took place almost eighteen years ago.
Apparitions fill the station like white fog on a crisp winter night. At once, they whisper to me through pitch-black voids that appear on their face. Their words are like a foreign language. The longer I listen, the angrier their tone gets. Their whispers become harsh cries, and the station rumbles beneath my feet, forming cracks that cut across the concrete foundation like intricate lightning strikes.
I cover my ears in an attempt to drown out the bellowing sound coming from the haunting figures. Then something gently tugs on my shoulder behind me. The wails from the apparitions stop. I turn over. Before me is a towering human-shaped silhouette. The dark mass has no visible features yet I feel it gaze into my soul. It reaches out and points their finger to me. The station once again starts to shake and crumble. A hellish red glow emits from behind the figure. A fiery inferno consumes the station which knocks me off my own two feet.
The blow jolts me from the nightmare in a cold sweat. I feel my heart pound erratically all the way up to my throat. It beats faster and faster. I grip my chest and take long, deep breaths but it only accelerates more. I writhe in distress. I can still hear them wailing my name, pleading for me to shield them from the fire. I reach for the Serodyx tablet I set on my nightstand the evening before. I pop the tablet in my mouth, swallow, and pray the effects kick in quickly.
My heart rate decelerates. My thoughts vanish and a numbing sensation washes over my body. I sigh a breath of relief then wipe the beads of sweat from my brow. I turn to my side, feeling a heavy weight pinning my left arm that I hadn't noticed before. Keith is sound asleep on my arm. I rake my fingers through his soft, fair hair and try to lift his head off my arm. He squirms a little before tightly wrapping his hands around my forearm and nodding off. Realizing there is no other option to get my arm back without waking him, I simply press the mechanism behind my left shoulder and detach my cybernetic arm.
Gently throwing the sheets off me, I get up from his bed and make my way across to the bedroom door. Using the one good arm I have, I brush along the hallway until I find the light switch. The blinding light greets me into a minimalist living space, one gray loveseat, and steel coffee table with a television projector mounted in the middle. Making my way to the kitchen, I open the fridge and look for anything to munch on.  I lean down, scoping every level to find anything that looked like it would satisfy my craving. I find a lone green apple. Not exactly what I'm looking for but it'll do.
Taking the apple from the shelf, I shut the fridge behind me and make my way back to the living space. I plop myself on the seat, and attempt to reach for the projector remote with my temporarily non-existent arm. I scoff, and focus on the remote only a few feet away on the coffee table. The remote instantly shoots across the table and into my open palm. 
I switch the projector on. A late night rerun of 'Tea Time with Tyra' slowly fades onto the wall. I glance at the clock mounted on the wall beside the projector. It's five in the morning. There's likely nothing good to watch besides infomercials or the home shopping network. I switch the station over to watch the news. Not my first choice, but it's better than watching vacuum cleaners.
After a short set of commercials, the jingle to Arcathia News Network plays. Deborah Locke, the lead News Anchor for ANN appears behind her desk along with her fellow correspondent, Kale Davenport. The two look up in attention as the camera begins to center on them.
"Welcome back. A gruesome update has been unearthed on the Floras Mining Accident as more bodies are being uncovered from the site. Investigators and rescue crews confirmed six miners' bodies have been dug up from the rubble this morning following Sunday's collapse," Deborah reads from her teleprompter. "Prime Minister Cain is finally planning on holding a press conference later this morning in North Capitala to address the tragedy and the alleged improper safety practices conducted. This will be the first statement he has made since the incident…"
"Ayden, I invited you over so I can spend time with you, not your arm," 
I turn my head over to face Keith, who is leaning against the wall of the hallway, cradling my cybernetic limb as if it were an infant. He juts his jaw into a pout, expecting some sort of response. I simply cut him a half smile and pat the seat cushion next to me. He wobbles over still half asleep, then sits beside me on my left and attempts to work the cybernetic limb into my shoulder socket.
"I got it, babe," I say, trying to reach over to help him with the alignment. He brushes my hand out of his way then proceeds to lock the limb with a ka-chink, confirming it is in place. He nuzzles my metallic shoulder plate.
"I still don't understand why you choose to hold that arm. I got another arm, it's made of flesh, and a lot softer to the touch," I suggest, extending my right arm and flexing as to catch his attention. 
"It would be easy for anyone to hold onto that arm," he replies without missing a beat. I remain silent, not wanting to press the subject. I feel Keith flip my arm to view my palm; he takes his and matches it with mine. Running his hand down softly, he taps on the middle of my wrist, which activates a hologram displaying my body's vitals.
"Heart rate was up between four thirteen and five," he says. "It was Red August again, huh?"
I nod, then casually take another bite of the apple.
"Was the figure there again? Was there anything distinctive about it that you could see?" he asks.
I shake my head. "No, I can describe to you everything else but the figure…"
"So what happened after? Did you wake and have an episode?" 
I reluctantly nod my head.
"Did you not mention this to me sooner because it triggered your powers and you broke something again?" Keith asks with a stifled chuckle. I giggle along, knowing he was making a playful jab at the last time I stayed over and broke the bathroom door with an involuntary telekinetic blast.
"No babe, nothing's broken," I reply.
"Well, we may have to up the dosage of Serodyx. Maybe go up to two pills a day," he suggests. I let out an exaggerated and displeased sigh. 
"Serodyx is the reason why I'm having these recurring nightmares to begin with. The fragmented memories that would normally trigger an episode in the day now just plague my dreams at night."
"Well, then I can try and get an appointment set up with a psychiatrist. They can talk to you and help break down the dream to its roots and—"
"Can we not do this right now?" I growl. "Can I talk to Keith for a moment? And not Doctor Everett?"
Keith falls silent and hangs his head in shame. "You're right. I'm sorry," he apologizes sincerely. I take a moment to breathe and settle down. 
"I'm sorry I snapped. I know you're trying to help…"
"It's okay," he kisses me on the cheek. "Let's just go back to bed and we can talk about this in the morning. I'll rub your tummy 'til you sleep."
"You always say you'll do that but you wind up falling asleep before I do."
"I wont this time, c'mon," he pleads.
"Alright, alright," I sigh.
Keith passes out the moment he hits the mattress. I stay up, and gaze up at the ceiling tracing the ridges of drywall. Hours pass, and the sun's rays creep through the bedroom curtains, leaving the room with a soft orange tint. Shortly after, Keith's morning alarms blasts into the room playing a tune from his favorite R&B musician, Kim Rae. Keith sits up then stretches his arms before hopping off and making his way to the bathroom. I re-adjust myself in his bed, taking a moment to enjoy the space to myself. Keith comes back from the bathroom with a toothbrush in his mouth.
"Can you step out for a moment? I need to get dressed," he says with the toothbrush clenched between his teeth.
"Why? Are we going somewhere?" I whine. 
"Yes, it's Friday. I need to get groceries," Keith replies.
"Fine, I guess," I scoff. "... but I don't see why I should leave considering you've seen me naked on more than one occasion."
"Those were accidental walk-ins," he replies with a dull glare.
"Those accidental walk-ins were pretty convenient if you ask me," I say, making little quotes signs with my fingers. "Can't you just undress in the bathroom?"
 "No, Ayden. My bathroom door is still jammed from when it you warped it out of place,"
"Right… I'm going to fix that one day…" I say, knowing damn well I know nothing about handiwork.
"Look, Ayden, I don't want to have to drag this on longer than I have to." 
He turns around and tugs down on his pajama pants and black boxer briefs, revealing his pale behind and all its glory. I spring up in full salute then playfully howl. He shimmies his pants up in place. 
"Har-Har, very funny! Now make your way out of my room!"
It's a short walk to the neighborhood monorail station. The train takes us directly to downtown Capitala city where Keith prefers to do his shopping. We climb the steps to the raised platform, half expecting the morning crowd to congest the station. To our surprise, the platform is near-empty except for a few security guards and high school aged kids in the far end sharing an e-cigarette.
"Huh, never seen it like this on a Friday morning," Keith comments, swiping his train pass over the turnstile twice.
"Who cares, we get a bench to ourselves."
I vault over the backrest of the nearest bench. Keith sits beside me and takes out his medical tablet that he uses for work. He powers on the display. Peeking over his shoulder I see he is logging a detailed report of my anxiety attack this morning to the Evolution Genetics patient database. Even when he's not working, he's working.
"Why are you so obsessed with me?" I say, bumping my shoulder with his.
"Hm?" he says, half-attentively. He glances up from the screen.
"Arcathia to Doctor Everett, come in, Everett," I say, pretending to speak into my palm to imitate feedback. 
"What…?" he says. He pouts when he realizes what I'm doing. 
"C'mon, babe. It's Friday, why'd you even bring that thing?"
"It's going to be really quick, I just have to—"
Keith stops mid sentence as the sound of footsteps draw near. He and I our heads in the direction of the sound. A slim figured woman stands a few feet from us, wearing only a colorful strapless sundress held up by her large bust and even larger belly. She's at least eight months pregnant by my guess and approximately in her mid twenties with golden blonde hair that curls around her pale face. She stares ominously with eyes blue as ice. 
"Hello. Can I help you?" asks Keith with a cautious undertone. The woman continues to stare without uttering a word. Keith glances to me with an unsettled expression, pleading with his eyes for me to step in and say something. The woman then begins to hum a song. It's slow in tempo and gentle to the eardrums. It's almost like a lullaby. She rubs her swollen belly, still humming. Goosebumps form all across my arm. I grab Keith by the hand, guiding him to stay close with me.
Luckily for us, the station's intercom announces the arrival of an incoming train followed by a three tone chime. A silver monorail decelerates to a complete stop before unloading a few people coming from Capitala city. I snatch Keith and pull him into the crowd, glancing over my shoulder to see if the woman is still watching us. We enter the first available car take a seat at the window facing the woman. Keith looks for the woman in the crowd.
"Don't mind her, babe. She was a little strange," I say.
"A little?" Keith protests. "She scared me out of my skin! And the humming? What was that all about?"
I shrug and turn over to get another glimpse of the pregnant woman. Not to my surprise, she's still watching us closely with the same unsettling gaze from before. But the train doors close and the woman quickly becomes nothing more than a dot in the distance.
When we arrive in Capitala city, I take a big whiff of the salty, stale air with immense pleasure. I look up to the sky where towering skyscrapers stand over me like idols made of glass and steel. I love the sights and sounds Capitala has to offer. It's too quiet in the suburbs for my taste. So quiet as a matter of fact a fart could wake up the whole neighborhood.
Keith and I head down to street level where the city is most lively. The morning rush is in full force, congesting the city's narrow streets and sidewalks. As Keith and I weave through the bustling sidewalks, I rest my chin on the top of his head. 
"Babe, you are so heavy, you are anchoring me down!" he says as I tickle his sides .
"You walk too fast! I had to run to catch up to you!" I reply, kissing the top of his head which smells of a floral paradise compared to Capitala's air. To pass the time, I turn on my cybernetic and open the game application StarForge, a popular online strategy game played by millions around the galaxy. Keith scoffs as he recognizes the game's familiar loading screen projecting from my arm. 
"Oh jeez, you still play that? I'm terrible. My fleets are always crushed!"
I chuckle. "That's because you invest all your money into your flagship. You have no defensive ships. You need frigates."
Keith rolls his eyes. "I prefer Monster Summoner. The little avatars are cute and they allow auto-battle scenarios, so the game plays itself."
"Where's the fun in that?" I ask, furiously punching fleet orders to my armada as I invade an enemy's home base within the game's PvP arena. Suddenly, I hear the lyrics to a Kim Rae song play from Keith's holophone.
"How can I ~ forget you ~ when ya' just keep calling ~ " she sings mellowly. 
It's the ringtone Keith set for when his work calls. I remain completely silent. EvGeni condemns their physicians from fraternizing with patients. It's practically their first rule according to Keith. He takes out his holo-phone and takes a deep breath.
"This is Keith," he replies, masking his disappointment with a perky façade. He rubs the bridge of his nose after a long pause. 
"Yeah… I can be there… I'm in the area so it shouldn't take me too long. Thanks, Trysha." 
He closes his holo-phone and cocks his head back, groaning hysterically.
"They seriously want you to come in right now, on your day off?" I ask with a scoff. Keith places his phone back into his pocket. 
"Yeah, the EvGeni big wigs want to speak to me post-haste for some sort of evaluation. I don't know. My secretary, Trysha, said they were very scarce on providing details."
"You're not in trouble, are you?" I ask with a stifled chuckle. Keith cuts a stern glare to me.
"Oh please, I'm always on my—" 
A ring from my cybernetic arm interrupts him. I look to the display on my arm to see someone from EvGeni is now trying to reach me. My heart plummets. I turn to Keith to show him the caller ID. He furrows his brow, his eyes portraying that he's equally as puzzled as I am.
"It's fine. They have no knowledge of us. Answer and be as casual as you can," he assures me. With a shaky finger, I accept the call then place my open palm to my ear. 
"Hello?"
"Good morning, Mr. O'Hara. This is Trysha calling from Doctor Everett's office. How are you?" asks the bubbly secretary.
"I'm doing okay. What's the matter?" I ask.
"I'm calling to summon you to an evaluation with Doctor Everett as soon as you are able. I understand this is extremely short notice and EvGeni is willing to compensate you for the inconvenience."
"Can I opt out? I'm in the middle of something," I lie.
"Is it a family or medical emergency?" she asks, maintaining her bubbly persona.
"No." I reply through gritted teeth.
"Then you may not opt out. If transportation is an issue we can arrange pickup."
"That won't be necessary. I'll be there when I can," I reply with a defeated sigh.
"Thank you for understanding. When you arrive, just find me at the front and I will point you in the right direction. See you real soon," she says then quickly disconnects.
"Well isn't she something else…" I smarmily say under my breath. I turn to Keith was in deep thought, possibly formulating an idea in his head on how to approach the issue at hand.
"What are you thinking?" I ask, hoping that by now he would have an idea. Keith breaks from his train of thought and looks to me.
"I go in first, get settled at my office and figure out what is going on. You show up a little later and we tackle this thing like we've done everything else."
"You sure this has nothing to do with us?" I ask a final time to settle my doubt.
"They're completely oblivious."

Orphaned by a terrorist attack, Ayden O'Hara thought his life was coming together until the same mysterious entity responsible for his disfigurement resurfaces eighteen years later. After another near-miss with death, he allows himself to be drafted into a governement program which will utilize his gift of telekinesis to combat the terrorists.

The editor of the publication, with tousled hair and a Hitler 'stache, slammed the manuscript down onto the table.

"This is rubbish!" he roared at the young man anxiously standing in front of him.

"Excuse me, sir?" Amerigo Fiscella said nervously.

"This story," he began, "explores a multitude of themes which are really relevant today. It is written with extremely good vocabulary and there are several instances of dramatic irony which provide for excellent sources of comedy."

"Pardon me sir, b-b-but-"

"Spit it out, Fiscella!"

"Those all sound like g-good things," Amerigo said, before hastily adding, "-sir."

"Amerigo, those DO all sound like good things… for bloody high school required reading! Nobody has laughed at any of Shakespeare's jokes in the last two centuries, and even nineteenth century fogies wouldn't chuckle at your 'humour'" he put air-quotes around 'humour'.

"These days, this story," the editor continued, holding up the magazine, would be considered one thing. Boring. You use long words which mean little, and you can make words flow, but you cannot put together a good joke to save your life!"

Amerigo sighed, "I know sir, but I can't figure out what they want! I try to be funny but I just can't figure out what our audience think is funny!"

"Well then, Fiscella, I want YOU to go out there and conduct some market research!"

"I-I'm not so sure what you mean."

"This coming week, Monday to Friday, I want you to go around and collect information of what our target audience does, and finds funny."

"You mean our target audience of teenage girls?"

"No, I mean our OTHER target audience of male senior citizens...yes, of course I mean our target audience of teenage girls."

"Let me get this straight. You want me, a middle-aged Italian-American man to approach little girls."

"What about this are you not getting?"

Amerigo gestured wildly, "The part where you want me to be a gods damned creep for a week!"

"Nonsense, my boy," the editor rose out of his seat, prompting Amerigo to do the same. The moment he was out of his seat, he began pushing Amerigo out of his office.

Literally.

"But sir-"

"If you can't do this much, you can kiss your job here goodbye!" the editor called after Amerigo, as he slammed his office door shut.

Amerigo collapsed onto the floor and sighed.

"Why is it always me?"

Amerigo made his way to a kid's park, because that was where teenage girls hang out.

At least in his novels.

He got to the gate of the park.

The guard gave him a slightly suspicious look. Amerigo couldn't imagine why. He was just one man walking into a park for children all alone, looking around for a good teenage child to interview to figure out the likes and dislikes of kids these days.

"You here to pick up your kid, sir," the guard asked, opening the gate for Amerigo.

Amerigo hmmed noncommittally, and mumbled, "Something like that." 

He couldn't be bothered paying attention to the security guard of all people.

He looked around and frowned. Teen girls were a lot shorter than he remembered them to be. 

'Maybe the shorter they are,' Amerigo thought, 'the more likely they are to talk to me!'

Amerigo had always thought there was a correlation between being short and intelligence, after all, why else would God have left him with only 160 centimetres of height!

"Hello, little girl, my name is Amerigo Fiscella, how do you do?" Amerigo bent down onto his haunches, and stuck out a hand for the girl to shake.

The girl took his hand, apprehensive, but did not say anything.

"So, little girl," he hesitated, where should he start?

She kept staring at him.

Amerigo was beginning to feel a little bit uncomfortable so he shiftily broke eye contact.

"What is your name?" he finally asked. He was fairly sure that teenagers just studied in their free time, maybe had a laugh at their private copy of 'Twelfth Night', or maybe a PG Wodehouse if they were feeling all edgy and modern.

The girl continued to stare at him.

"Stranger!" she announced loudly.

Amerigo sputtered, "Excuse me, I introduced myself at the beginning of our little conversation, it is YOU who was so rude as to not introduce yourself!"

"Stranger," the girl announced again, before slurring out, "Danger. Stranger Danger!"

At once the many mothers of children who were walking around the park were on high alert.

One mother came running.

"What are you doing with my Alice!" she shrieked, "My precious, three-year-old Alice!"

Amerigo sputtered once again, "I am...a writer," he announced, "And I was talking to her for, uhm, market research."

But Alice's mother wasn't listening to him, or what he was saying.

WHACK!

She whacked Amerigo with her handbag, "Get away from my child!"

"Sir, I think you need to step out of the park," the guard had come to see what was wrong.

Amerigo shook his fist like a Scooby-Doo villain, "I'll get you one day Alice!"

Second Try.

He HAD to get some intel this time. Otherwise, he would be out of a job.

He tried entering the park through the front but the guard wouldn't let him. So he was here. Trying to climb the fence with limited success.

With a grunt, Amerigo tumbled over the fence and hit the ground with a loud thud, sending kids screaming.

Somehow that served as a mom-beacon and he was once again faced with several angry mothers with handbags ready to whack.

Amerigo managed to sneak into the park while the guard was getting himself a coffee.

One little girl was the first to see him, she looked at him and pointed and said loudly, "Creepster."

"Creepster?" Amerigo repeated.

"CREEPSTER!" all of the children in the park repeated.

And the mother brigade was back.

Amerigo nursed his many injuries as he ranted to his boss, "Those children are barbarians!" he shouted angrily, "They can barely string together 2 words, let alone read a bloody story! If this is what I have to write for, then I QUIT!"

With that, he stormed out of the room.

The editor smiled.

This was by far the easiest way to trim the fat off his corporation.

Hilarious, irreverent, and witty.

Two Eurasian tree sparrows fluttered through an open window and alighted on the white marble windowsill. They chirped at each other, twitched their pure white-cheeked heads, then skimmed back to the torrid atmosphere.

Elizabeth Euler, dressed in typical housewife clothing, green and blue striped dress with a red apron, prowled across the gray rug, picking up the compressed Cheetos bags on the floor by the desk next to the open window. "What a mess you've become." She joked as she threw the garbage in the stainless-steel trash can and glanced at Francis Euler lying supine on his upholstered sleigh bed. She was almost as tall as Francis and had long braided brown hair.

Francis shifted his body to his right, dangling his right arm off the bedside and almost touching the 4-drawer bedside table with his fingertips. On top of the table, a white digital alarm clock blared when the time read 7:00 a.m, waking Francis up from his peaceful dreams. He raised his head from his white firm pillow, pulled the bed cover off his hairy legs, then stood up from the bed to stop the alarm clock.

"I'm so tired," Francis growled as he adjusted his groin in his gray woven boxers and stomped his way to the bathroom on the other side of the bed, without noticing his mother in the room. He was very tall and had short sides with medium-length brown hair on top.

Mrs. Euler stealthily made Francis's bed, then threw his worn clothes, black cotton sweatshirt, and black jogger pants hung on his gaming chair, in the white laundry basket by the beige foldable closet doors. After she heard the toilet flush and Francis opening the sink water, she knocked on the bathroom door. "Honey, after you're out of the bathroom and done dressing, come down for breakfast. I made your favorite bacon and eggs combo."

"Okay, Mom. I'll head down when I'm done brushing my teeth." Francis gargled and spat out the water, then closed the sink water and opened the door. "I just need to get—" He noticed the tidiness of his bedroom when he merged out of the bathroom, then groaned. "Come on, Mom. I keep on telling you that you don't have to clean my room. I'm not five anymore. I can do everything on my own."

"I'm sorry, dear. I want to speed up the process, so we can talk about the first day of your freshman year while we eat. I'm getting excited thinking about it."

"Whatever, then. I see that you threw my clothes from yesterday in the laundry basket." Francis wore black jogger pants, black socks, and a red, long-sleeves t-shirt taken from his 2-door wooden wardrobe. "How's the weather?"

"Well, Nathaniel called twenty times last night." Mrs. Euler paused for a moment and looked visibly concerned. "Are you sure you don't want to answer him anytime soon? Because he seems eager to hang out. I get that you were busy all summer, trying to get a job, but at this point, you are just avoiding your best friend, let alone, your only friend."

Francis, fully dressed, walked down the squeaky staircase to the dining room with Mrs. Euler. "I see that the weather's quite stormy." He sighed, raising his hand to scratch his forehead. "He does nothing but wastes my time that I could use to do something more meaningful like pursuing Computer Science. I'm seriously tired of him. Honest to god. The only reason why I don't want to— Air quotes. "hang out." – is that his definition of hanging out is to annoy the hell out of me by going on vexatious adventures." Francis sat on a dining room chair as Mrs. Euler brought bacon and eggs on a white glass plate and stainless-steel knife and fork to the table. "They aren't adventures. It's all pretend for us, or him, at least. I stay by, pretending to play fantasy with him.

Mrs. Euler brought her breakfast and sat on a chair next to Francis's. "If you genuinely find this convoluted relationship vexing and troublesome, just say that you don't want to hang out anymore."
"You don't think I've tried? He was hurt when I declared the end of our friendship. He looked hurt, at least. He was sobbing and shaking, and then he ran off."

Mrs. Euler took the plates and the dirty utensils to the kitchen sink after they finished their breakfast, then poured some orange juice into a glass. "And, he's still treating you as his best friend. What happened?"

Francis drank the glass with five gulps, then reached for the television remote on the marble kitchen countertop. "Nathaniel came back to me the next day, bringing out his hand-drawn map of the woods from his pocket. He started to babble about where to go after school. It was as if the shit that I said the day before didn't faze him. That was the last time I tried to break up with him. At that point, I gave up and let this insecticide wilt the flowers in my garden of happiness." Francis proceeded to the living room with Mrs. Euler following. "It's time to go now."

"I hope you'll have a wonderful first day of high school, honey." Mrs. Euler firmly grasped Francis's body and kissed his cheeks. "Tell me how your day had been when you come back."

"Will do." Francis escaped from his mother's grasp and headed toward the gray shoe rack by the front door.

"Another thing. I'll go to the clinic for a medical examination. I'll come back a bit late so that you could eat the leftovers from last night."

Francis wore his favorite black Nike shoes and hugged his mother before departure. "Don't worry about me. I told you this. I'll take care of myself until you come back."

"Love you!"

"I love you too, Mom." Francis opened the front door and stepped out of the house.

Darkness. Absolute darkness.

Francis couldn't see anything. He frantically craned his neck to look behind him. Mrs. Euler, the shoe rack, the 'welcome' mat, and the shoe closet were gone. The darkness completely engulfed Francis.
"Mom? Where are you, Mom? Mom?!" Francis waited for a response. Nothing. Not even an echo. "What's going on? Mom? Where are you?"

The sound of blaring sirens echoed into Francis's ears. He cupped his ears with his hands to prevent the vibration from popping his eardrums. Blood poured out, flowed down his forearms, and dripped from his elbows. Francis started to hyperventilate. Not being able to control his breathing, he gripped onto his shirt only to unclench his blanched fist and to leave a bloodstain in the middle of his shirt. He bowed down and slammed his forehead on the ground.

Francis screamed in agony until the noise died down, and the soft sound of a news reporter unintelligibly describing a car crash echoed into Francis's ears. He could only perceive a couple of words. "Car crash. Fatal. Head-on. Euler."

"Euler? Wait! What do you mean by that? What happened to my mom? Car crash? Is she dead? I don't know what's going on." Francis hysterically attempted to move his feet out of his stationary position.

No luck.

Then, Francis could hear bawling. He jerked his head around to find the direction the cry was coming from until the noise amplified, and Francis concealed his ears again. "What the actual fuck is going on? Help me! Anyone, help me please!"

Soon after, Francis heard a familiar voice, and the loud noise abated. "I came here as soon as I could. I'm sorry that I couldn't get here sooner. I was preoccupied. Don't worry. I'm here to comfort you. Everything would be fine. Everything would be fine. Shhhhh. Everything. Would be. Fine. Here. Come here. I'll help you to ease the emotional pain."

"Nathaniel? Is that you? Where are you? Hello? Can you hear me?"

The voice diminished. Francis entered a state of ravage and bewilderment. His sullen face paled, and he fell to his knees. His speech and movement were impaired.

He could only wait for someone to rescue him.

Shortly after, a drop of heavy rain fell on Francis's head, then poured down with full force. Francis still struggled to make sense of what's happening. Nathaniel's soft voice murmured into Francis's ear. "I've brought an umbrella for the rain, so you don't have to be soaking wet when you go home. Don't worry, Francis. I'm here now."

The rain subsided. Francis cupped his drenched face with his shaking hands and sobbed in confusion. A fluorescent light beamed on Francis, then illuminated the surrounding. Francis stood up and turned around after he heard heavy footsteps from behind. He couldn't see anything, but he knew something was coming near – something filled with bloodlust.

Then Francis woke up.

"Second chances are rare, so take them when you get them." ~ME (unless someone finds the quotes from the original quoter.)

Liam woke up when he heard his mother calling out. He opened his eyes and saw a beautiful young woman dressed in a blue victorian gown. She had beautiful blue eyes that complimented her fair skin and her blonde hair.

"Good morning mother." he greeted her from his bed rubbing his eyes.

"Jeez, wake up now and get dressed, your father is leaving for his journey to the capital you have to give him a farewell." she pulled his sheets.

"Can't this be done by my other siblings, they are always eager to impress father."

In Liam's eyes, she acted like a mother trying her best to convince a child that the clothes she spends hours choosing for him to wear were the best.

Liam could feel the energy coming from her eyes daggering him into submission.

"I will wear them, okay." He said while snatching the dress from her hands.

"I knew you'd like them." A mischievous smile appeared in her face.

"I don't like it but I will wear them because I love you." Liam was embarrassed and his face started to flush.

"Oh, Liam." She raised her hands and pulled Liam into her chest and started rubbing her face over his hair.

"Just let me go." Liam shifted his eyes away from her breast.

"I need some skinship with my son." She said in a childish voice and started kissing all over his face.

"Please mother stop kissing me." Liam tried to push her away but her grip was stronger than Liam.

"Heeheehee." Liam heard someone giggle and shifted his eyes towards the source of the voice.

Liam saw a maid failing at hiding herself behind the door. His face lit red as he struggled to remove himself from his mother's grip.
