She said the thing !

"His honorific name is: The Fool that doesn't belong to this era, the mysterious ruler above the gray fog; the King of Yellow and Black who wields good luck."

I have a friend called Rein but he is a Croatian man so it makes me chuckle a bit every time I read that name

He also had to decide what to do about Rain. And continue practicing Shadow Dance in the Dreamscape... everyone had forgotten about Mongrel by now, surely. No doubt about it.

Since you have come to repent, all is forgiven 😉

Wei Huo saw some ants polishing stones into sharp ones before tying them to their bodies with vines to serve as weapons while other ants put on wooden armors, and some even brought bamboo cages to carry provisions.

I've never been a fan of this author but since LOTM is such a favorite of mine i figured this might be a good read too. Sadly this was not the case, in fact the comparison only makes the flaws even more glaringly obvious. The saying "show don't tell" describes why this novel feels so dull, nothing is ever shown only told. The world is called steampunk instead of it being shown through technology, culture or architecture. The characters have personalities that are told to the reader and never showed through their actions. Everything follows this trend. For me the most disappointing part is the system, it invalidates the mystery and intrigues of the supernatural and turns it into a hack and slash adventure. Sadly this not another LOTM, it's a litrpg power fantasy written by a mediocre author set in a decent world.

She was already OP during her first ordeal. Jake was forced to bail her out during the second but she still failed. During the third she lost control and killed her teammates but got no demerits for it. I can't remember her having to work for anything, but I am pretty biased since I dislike her so maybe I forgot.

'So this is what it's like to be under a Slave Contract.' She bit her lip as she clenched her fists. 'Even if he doesn't do anything, I really can't kill him unless he orders me to. As for him, he can order me to sacrifice my life for him at any time. Life is really unfair...'
