[Note:I know many believe Imprinting leans into Soulmates, it's my theory just think about Taha Aki because of his body being stolen merged with wolf and it's soul, thus becoming the first Shapeshifter. Before this Spirit Walkers never had Imprinting, but after merging with wolf they started Imprinting, only thing I can think of is Wolf inside them is choosing the perfect mate to pass on the shifter genes. Sam and even Billy talks about it. Now a soulmate connection is felt by both people. With imprinting, only the wolf gets zapped by the magic. The human doesn't feel anything magical at all. They just suddenly have a shape-shifter obsessed with them, and they have to choose to love them back the normal way. We can actually see with Tribe history, there has been multiple times Imprintee has rejected the Shapeshifter.

The interesting thing is Taha Aki has 3 wives, so he either Imprinted 3 times in his life. It would make sense he is quasi immortal, so he probably Imprinted multiple times, after all his wives are not immortal.

The big difference is that vampire bonding and wolf imprinting are total opposites. Vampire mating is a sacred, two-way street where both people choose each other, and their love is permanent because their minds are frozen. Imprinting isn't really a 'soulmate' bond—it's just wolf genetics taking away their free will. It acts like an erase button. It completely wipes out whatever romantic feelings the wolf had before so they can focus entirely on the new person. It’s totally forced and one-sided, which is why Sam's love for Leah didn't just take a backseat—it was completely deleted. Unlike vampires who build a relationship, imprinting acts like a reset button on a computer. It instantly wipes out any romantic feelings the wolf had for anyone else (like Sam's love for Leah, or Jacob's love for Bella).
I am not interested in both of them, but Selene and Leah from Underworld are great. From Shadow Hunters it's Isabelle.
3) I've seen a lot of comments hoping for Isabelle Lightwood or Tanya as a mate! (I would have gone with Irina or Kate rather than Tanya). But this is something, I haven't considered.
