Anyone, even a pro-athlete, can be easily killed by a butter knife if repeatedly stabbed while in critical condition(1 HP). The difference created by having HP is that, when having a high amount of HP, like 100, you can survive a mortal wound, like having the brain penetrated by an arrow, because the damage will be something like 50(Random number). The arrow would cause a hemorrhage that would eventually kill, obviously, but if quickly removed and magically healed, the person would be alright and have no permanent damage.
Minor injuries, like getting a little sliced by a butter knife, will only reduce HP if they happen dozens of times, and will reduce only 1.
