There's no internet or mobile phones so he can get 'briefed' on the situation. First, Jon Snow needs to know what's happening in detail. Second, Jon Snow needs a strong reason to get involved personally. Third, he needs a legitimate casus beli to join, since he is a technically neutral political entity and has no authority in the North at all. Once those three conditions are fulfilled, Jon will naturally move. Obviously, it will take some time.

Well, considering I actually finished the fic, I think I can look back and give an honest review. I could have done certain things better overall. But I'm happy with how it came out. It's not a short one or focused on a single character, so read at your own peril.
Jon has no talent for the greensight, though. It's super rare - one in a thousand skinchangers have some talent to be a greenseer, and even then they might be super weak.
