Synopsis

I had to stop at like chapter 9. The female lead is just kind of pathetic. she has no backbone. The personality is very minimal and watered down. I couldn't stand reading past chapter 9. It seemed like every single chapter was her being spineless and try to pawn and not even getting angry about it but just weekly crying and waiting for someone to save her and letting herself have coffee dumped on her or be dragged around by the mail lead or whatever. very weak sauce. a weak female lead makes for a very boring story. I have a high tolerance for bad writing because I love these high drama books but I kept on getting distracted by hypothetic I was finding the female lead 🤣😴

I agree with many reviewers that the hashtag abusivelove is a mayor turn off But so far the story and trama is good. I like it and im hoping that with abusive love you talk about Lin Ziquian and not the Mayor, otherwise is gonna be too messed up
abusive love is really abusive love here. FL is indecisive. the former husband is scum. but, the ML is also forceful, although it's psychologically. He appears gentle to FL, but actually very sly. so, because of FL indecisiveness I feel like she's being manipulated by ML (he's a politician). Btw, this novel touches infidelity, so if you're also uncomfortable with that, don't read this. IF the FL isn't indecisive and stronger, and ML bit by bit decrease his forceful ways dominance towards FL so that they can become equal partner in the relationship, then maybe I'll rate higher.
i read it after reading the synopsis which looks interesting but the development of the story and most importantly the characters are really different from the description. from the syny i though the FL will be decisive and strong, but novel portrayed the FL as the opposite. the male characters here are egoistic and brought out male supremacy, even if the ML written as warm and caring, it's still disgusting

I gave 40 chapters a chance. The story very much annoys me where FL remains undecided abt divorce for more than 30 chapters and then last few chp were on the waiting game. Soooo typical of those long-drawn family drama. There should have a tag ‘family drama’.
Im so sorry to say this but why are u guys picking up this novel? It doesnt make sense at all. ML Sucks but seriously 😒 AnD FL typical whiny wishy washy girl. im so disappointed😢😭
The abuse reviews and tag are not evident at all in these 30 chapters. Reviews of books not read are worthless. I read all of the available chapters, 1-30. I saw no physical or se×ual abuse aside from a rough wrist grab by the hubby. It's your typical Chinese novel scenario where the FL is a daughter-in-law who is abused verbally by her husband's family. The husband pays for the car of his dreams while the FL, ML, his younger brother and his parents all live in the marital home on the wife's salary. The mother-in-law is rude and greedy. She thinks her ML son is a god and his wife is a worthless rag. The younger brother-in-law uses the FL's drying lingerie for his 'amusement'. The husband is filth. He is having an affair with the company owner's daughter, whom he dislikes and thinks is a nightmare. He wants a promotion through the owner's daughter but he also wants the doormat FL who will cook, clean, and slave for his family. The husband meets the mayor after seeing his wife exit the mayor's car. The husband grabs the wife's wrist harshly, ready to accuse her of cheating - until he realises that if the wife knows the mayor he can use her to get to the mayor. Now he doesn't need the owner's daughter. That doesn't stop the owner's daughter from verbally abusing the FL and dumping coffee on her head. As expected, the mayor comes to her rescue as they got drunk at a company dinner and the FL woke up with him. The FL says she's married and has enough problems as it is. The mayor keeps manufacturing situations to be with the FL. I've not read the raws or looked for them. I see no evidence of any abuse aside from the usual mother-in-law abuse, mistress bullying, user husbands, and a ML who keeps popping up and complicating her life further. This FL is no hyper-talented Mary Sue. She seems like your typical Chinese woman bullied by her husband's family. Her parents support her choices, but the FL can't do much as the mistress had her fired and threatens to fire the FL's father, who also works at the mistress' family company. This FL is depressed with few options, and her husband is impotent. He does everything but the final deed with the mistress so she doesn't find out that he can't get it up. The mayor is the FL's first time. The FL keeps the ML'S impotency secret for 2 years of marriage. Chapter 30 ends with the mayor trying to lure her and her fighting with the in-laws after she hires a cleaner to clean up the husband's family's messy house.

LOUSY story. The kind of story you see in sloppy tv series. The Female Lead is too pitiful. Too much of a pushover. Wasted 40 chapters.

This is based on 40 chapters & the rating is that high because of the translation quality. I will include vague spoilers. FL has no backbone whatsoever. Once she learns the truth about her husband's cheating, she continues to stay by his/his family's side taking disrespect. When divorce is finally brought up, she doesn't push harder to have conditions in her favor so she stays married. As for ML, he's pushy, & kind of annoying, in his pursuit of her, though he knows that she's still married. While some may not care because her husband was having an affair, it kind of makes her the same as that scum. It's not a story worth reading.
This is 2 time that I am reading on web-novel and I don’t know many things about adding review and rating so I will only say this story peek my interest I have many books in my house yet I don’t read them and yet I like this book at second glace so I an totally going to read this full book

It’ s a good thing to read if you have nothing else to read. At first I thought I wouldn’t like it but it’s pretty okay. Just give it a try and see for yourself
The tag for #abusivelove carries the most weight in my review. The synopsis of the story is quite interesting and attention-grabbing. The storyline is relatively new for me. My problem is that the synopsis does not show and triggered me to merit the tag for abusive love. The tag is turning me off from reading the story; but I will still wait for the trial read to give this story more thought.
