Synopsis

[ There will be a delay on this novel to pile the chapters up meanwhile you can read SpaceMage it's getting daily chapters. King's Gambit is my favourite work so I want to take my time with it before releasing the chapters. ]

Cagnus Marlsen is a young, ordinary boy who enrolls in the prestigious Imperial Chess Academy, a school for the supernatural elite. However, when his true potential is discovered, he becomes the target of both gods and devils who fear his power. Despite his lack of knowledge about his true identity, Cagnus's random actions are seen as a genius by those around him. As he navigates the dangerous world of the supernatural.
.....
[The interesting side of the story really begins in chapter 4 so please be patient till then.]
Reminder:
The character is designed to be kinda stupid but anything he makes or does people around him find it genius. It is comedic and it's written for fun please do not bully me in the comment section if you find his actions illogical.
....
I don't know if you have realised, but I'm as shameless as our MC 20 stones per week for extra chapters. I haven't decided on the exact number.

As the brilliant words of this piece flowed from the keyboard, I couldn't help but be entranced by the sheer genius on display. This author's ability to craft a masterpiece is truly unmatched, and I found myself completely captivated by their clever wit and clever observations. I laughed, I cried, I even threw a few stones in support of their magnificent work. In short, this is a must-read for anyone looking to be entertained, educated, and enlightened. So give it a read, leave a glowing review, and clear some space on your bookshelf for this literary gem. You won't be disappointed.

What I loved about the this book is the world building. It's very descriptive and detailed and written in a way that won't bore the readers. The readers aren't given a bunch of info dump. Talking about the character, Cagnus, a very catchy name by the way is a guy coming from a very humble background. We know his relationship with his grandfather was pretty close and his gramps taught him all he needed to know bout chess. I sympathize with him because how he fell victim to the harsh class system in the Fide Empire (Reminds me of the dark ages) How he is treated less than a dog for being a peasant. character wise, he is not out of the ordinary, he responds to his ordeals like any normal guy his age would which makes him all the more relatable. I won't giving away too many spoilers, but I assure you there are more characters which are quite interesting. Like the Knight (Although kinda hated him at first), Lady Seraphine, or the mysterious prince in row A. Chapter 4 gave me anxiety, because I was already rooting for Cagnus. If you wanna know why, read the book, you will want to know more about this amazing world created by the author! Keep it up author! Waiting for more chaps.

There must always be a factor which makes a novel different from others and the unique cultivating method makes this story totally different from others. Some may like it and some may hate it, nonetheless, we must admit that it is very creative. Concerning the writing quality, I must say that I have seen many of the skills you have that I lack in your writing skills. I also love the creative names you give to the characters! Keep up the good work!

The quality is superb, amazing world building, great attention to details and especially the environment. The main character's personality is passable and in fact, relatable to some point. Love the humour where multiple highkey chess figure's names were used such as Magnus Carlsen and Paul Murphy. I'm very excited to see where this novel is headed to.

This novel is like a rollercoaster ride through the cosmos. It's got twists and turns that will blow your mind and send you soaring through the stratosphere, with each page, I feel like I'm being transported to a higher realm of consciousness. It's like my third eye has been opened, and I can see the world in a whole new way. I've been hooked on it since day one. It's the literary equivalent of a triple shot espresso - a total adrenaline rush.

Overall, I love the world building and magic system the author came up with. Chess has always fascinated me, so I'm curious to see how Cagnus, who seemingly thrives on order and practicality, faces the overly strict confines of his new learning environment.

This is an interesting book, I've read about 3 chapters and I'm already hooked. I'm not great at writing reviews but I have to say, I like the portrayal of social injustice and the fact that the author gives details and background info to avoid reader confusion. I can't wait to see the direction this novel takes[img=recommend] keep up the good work!!!

I like the way you start the chapter by telling what Cagnus has learned. It raises the expectation for the reader what way he will take or go with those skills. Besides, the Chess Academy's depiction was very detailed and allowed me to imagine it quite clearly. While the world's setting hasn't been revealed, it's overshadowed by detailed descriptions of the school and its surroundings. I give 5 stars for almost all criteria, only Update Stability I give 4. If you update every day, I think I believe this webnovel will be popular.

Brilliant writing no doubt about that. The story has a lot of potential. My only complaints being that thoughts can be difficult to identify as they are also in double quotes. Other than that, I think the author does his job a little too well lol, Like the annoying characters are really annoying. The start was ... extremely messed up, like why can't the grandfather character give the MC some common sense about his own abilities and all before sending him off to the academy. Can't he accompany him to get rid of all the stupid misunderstandings? At least get him to buy decent clothes so that he won't get hassled by the guards and stuff. I get that the story won't be as interesting otherwise but.... Nevermind lol. The fact that I have gotten so worked up over it is a good indicator of the quality of the story. Do check it out.

I saw this novel on his social media and gave it a try. I'm not a novel person, but I had a fun time reading it—especially the references to famous chess players 😂 and the misunderstandings.

I must say it is very entertaining and it's a funny story to have a laugh at and skip time. There were some issues with paragraphs being doubled which the author fixed after the initial comment. But overall, it's excellent, and I would recommend it plus, it has a unique cultivation system.
