Synopsis

The year is 1009 A.D. Huanzhi Ren is the Unknown Swordsman, an assassin with over 37 years of experience in murdering adversaries. He has been the death of countless young warriors, 1200 to be exact. Among those who have fallen to his blade is even the former king, Qinluo. This man is considered by many to be a villain. His closest companion, you ask? A man named Suntao. His blood brother since abandonment. Huanzhi, also called Zhi or Zhi-zhi, has the aspirations to be the greatest warrior the martial arts world has ever known. By the way, screw all of these titles, I'm not gonna lie... that's pretty long to remember. "The Greatest Warrior the Martial Arts World Has Ever Known." Think that fits on a name tag? Hell no.
In any case, Huanzhi is told of a pill by his blood brother that is rumored to give the absorber of it the amount of qi cultivation of 89 years of isolation training. The only problem? It's guarded by some of the greatest warriors to walk the realm... and Zhi-zhi can't fight with his right arm. Just before dying from his wounds from a fight with Lu Gongfen "The Falling Lotus Petal" (Seriously man, who names these stupid titles), Zhi regrets all the vile acts he has committed. As such, he is given a second chance at life. A chance to redeem himself. The only problem? It's 2023, and he doesn't have a blood brother around to keep him in check.

This novel is absolutely delightful! The author has done an excellent job of crafting a well-written and engaging story. The characters are so well-developed that their emotions and motivations really shine through. I found myself laughing out loud throughout the book – it's such a fun read! I highly recommend adding it to your reading list, as I certainly will be. Keep up the fantastic work, and I can't wait to see what the author comes up with next!

The book succeeds in giving us a well-crafted, well-structured, well-created, and engaging story that helps shape the entire atmosphere. It also succeeds with a careful writing quality of the book.

I love the writing and descriptions of the scenes, the world building and story so far. A personal opinion is I dislike the main characters exposition but that is just a personal issue.

I'll catch up to the other chapters but this makes me smile. The prologue was interesting but the first chapter made me laugh. The main character finding out about modern technology just made me smile.

Not bad so far, so I will continue reading. Added to my collection. My only thing is, some parts feel a bit too much of a tell, or the dialogue feels a bit too wordy in some parts.
It is an action-packed story. Expect for martial combat in almost every chapter. I like the detailed narrative the author has managed to artistically feature during combat scenes. I find it inspiring like me who wishes to write intricate and poetic martial combat scenes. Kudos to the author! What I am looking forward now is the character development. I have read up to Chapter 18 of this book. So far, it has been a roller-coaster ride.

Funny, thrilling, immersive, fresh and amazingly written. The camaraderie between Zhi and his brother, his mourning of his lost love, and his desperation to get back everything... it's solid and perfectly fits to the plot. I think I'll be following this novel, author... Congrats on having a banger!
