Synopsis
A TDG reader that doesn't Like Nie Li transmigrates as Shen Yue from the Sacred Family with a system that forces him to be Nie Li's enemy.
This is a story from the antagonist's point of view. Shen Yue starts with nothing, but as long as he keeps rebuking, antagonizing and going against the original protagonist Nie Li, he earns system points.
With system points, Shen Yue is slowly able to buy and learn Nie Li's cultivation techniques, pieces of knowledge, memories and abilities, gradually taking his place as the protagonist!
The hero is now always virtuous, while the villain isn't necessarily evil. From the position of an antagonist and starting from a weaker position, Shen Yue aims to correct Nie Li's failures and be the world's savior, all while bashing Nie Li on the way to steal his knowledge.

If you're looking for a psychopathic evil MC to satisfy your murder tendencies, then you're also in the wrong place. Even though Shen Yue is the Antagonist and acts as villain toward Nie Li, making his life miserable, he isn't necessarily evil, but he's simply more pragmatic, selfish, honest with himself and less hypocritical; he's a more of a selfish anti-hero that still helps others if it doesn't infringe on his own benefits.

Because of its nature, this story is quite a bit of a comedy with a lot of Nie Li face-slapping. It also copies some ideas from the other TDG fanfics, but not too much.

Are you seriously saying that Nie Li a hypocrite? Nie Li saved Glory City, He gave those lazy bums a chance to rise, and without him everyone would be in their graves. Without them putting any effort how can they shamelessly deserve more? Heaven will always leave a path for those who are brave enough to walk it. If they failed, it's because they never tried hard enough. If they died, it means they were never qualified to receive any treasures from Nie Li in the first place! And then we have this ordinary protagonist reincarnating into the world. He was just a measly reader before, not a cultivator or a anyone intersting. Did he struggle for hundreds of years? Did he have to hunt beasts with a broken bow like Nie Li? Did he ever have the courage to fight against the Sage Emperor against all odds, with little to no hope? Of course not! All he does is point out the hypocrisy of Nie Li and leech off his experiences with his cheap system, achieving nothing through his own actions. He could have raised the stakes when betting with Nie Li, but no, he decides to flaunt his power and makes a bad bet for himself to gain approval from the untalented people. There's no gradual improvement or maturity of the protagonist, and he doesn't possess any unique qualities or traits. He's merely limited to trying to point out Nie Li's hypocrisy, without any memorable quotes or engaging moments. Everything he does is just what Nie Li would do, with some minor changes like recruiting someone. Even his thoughts are mere reflection of Nie Li's, and It's like everything is explained by the protagonist instead of seeing Nie Li's actual thoughts. There's no variety, no originality, and what happened to the interesting elements like cultivation, training, academies, and learning? None of that exists. His system allows him to buy knowledge with points and even rewards him with missions, he even has a vine like him, couldn't he at least come up with something more original like orb or cube. He doesn't have an interesting ability, his system allows him to easily obtain the strongest techniques like the Heavenly God technique for a measly one point, when it should cost a hundred points at least. And why does he only gain from the poor Nie Li? Why is he limited to him alone, instead of interacting with the world's living beings or objects? There nothing to look forward to, any interaction between the system and the protagonist is non-existant, there's no leveling up or progression, there's no randomness or unknown involved, no interesting sign-in system. And then the protagonist wants to create a harem with a girl who looks exactly like the female version of Nie Li. He's basically in love with him deep down and settling for a poor replacement.
I have came across this interesting fanfiction based on 'Tales of demons and gods' (TDG). I've only read three chapters so far, but the story's premise is captivating and well-written. Unlike most fanfics, the main character isn't overpowered from the beginning. Instead, they struggle against the protagonist to obtain their abilities gradually. The story also features a harem and may include mature content (18+ moments). If you enjoy seeing the original MC get his face slapped and dislike the MC of TDG, I recommend giving it a read.

probably the best tdg fanfic I have read. Good Grammer and nice pace, author wrote the mc interacting with other very well, makes me feel that the other characters are flushed out people. good job 👏

I read TDG long time age when i dont really understand cultivation genre, so i dont really pay attention to nie li action But the more i read this ff the more make sense that nie li is such of hypocrite mc. also this MC more likeable than OG MC. he is smarter, op but not too much, and the harem is good.
I'm enjoying it so far. The system is designed to make Nie Li suffer, either by portraying him as the villain or conspiring against him. It has a vibe similar to the novel "Douluo Dalu: Capture the Goddess from Douluo." Let's see how it unfolds. I hope the author doesn't abandon it. So far, everything is going well. Thanks for the chapters.
Everything's pretty good so far, though I'm still waiting for the bigger plot deviations to truly know of this is a great fan fic or this'll just stay as good.
I mutter to myself as I can’t remember anything. I don’t even know my name. I’m at my wit’s end so I desperately try to dig up my memories. However, I can’t remember anything at all. I’m uneasy. I’m anxious; I can’t stand it. At such a time, I hear a high-pitched rhythmic sound far away. When I focus my attention towards the sound, there was a woman there. She was an exceptional beauty. Brown skin, white hair. And, wolf’s ears and tail.
It still early, just 9 chapters, but from what I read, I really like how this story is progressing. Sure, it bashes on Nie Li, but all the points are rational and the MC is not one to boast for chapters on end about things he has no knowledge about. I hope the MC keeps this kind of personality. He's not a 'villain' in the real sense of the world. He's a villain in the fact that he's against the world's protagonist.
mandatory review, a premise that is interesting from the beginning, a logical mc who understands that he is not a god walking among mortals therefore he attacks his adversary with cunning, characters who act like the canonical ones (until chapter 5).... ps: although the mc doesn't receive a gold finger as such, he is given a system that is still broken (not enough to beat nie li which I love) ❤️❤️❤️

The Author's grasp of the ching chong narration is top notch. It really feels like reading the novel from someone's else perspective who knows how to call out Nie Li's hypocrisy.

love the novel but please keep a update schedule or something ppl will lose interest of they don't read a story for a long time, have seen amazing novels go down this wasy.
I absolutely, unequivocally loathe Nie Li. His hypocrisy, his childish ways, and basically everything about him sets my teeth on edge. And this fanfic? It's like a breath of fresh air! Please don't drop this (Y_Y)
