Impressive work! Having delved into bits of the prequel, I found the storyline easy to follow, and I think Avatar fans would vibe with it effortlessly. But even for those unfamiliar, it holds its own as a captivating read. It's so good, it could easily be a blockbuster movie. And for those who relish rich story details, this book is a treasure trove. Kudos on a job well done!

Always been a fan of the avatar series ever since I was young. I thought I was taking a gamble by reading a fan fiction but it was surprisingly done well. The writing as well makes it easier to understand! Keep up the good work!

First of all, I love Avatar. It's one of my favorite anime. I watched it when I was young, very young, and I still watch it when I remember the name...Like yesterday I was watching Thunder Cats. You may find it funny, but let me tell you, if you rewatch a story you will discover things you have never noticed before. The only thing that dragged the ratings down was the slow update, otherwise, I would have given it a 5. Right from the beginning you sense the tension building up. I haven't read the first novel of this series so, I may not know many things. But you get to sympathize with the underdog. The rebel remnant - who got a beatdown from the soldier showed the spark of rebellious spirit. There are so many layers of ideas here. You wage a war and win, you become the hero, you lose you become a slave prisoner. There is no good or evil in a war. It only has sides. One that wins and the other one that loses. Once a mighty kingdom may become a mere puppet that follows the order of the one controlling the puppet. This is how the world order is. In the eyes of the winners who defended against invaders, the Invading power is evil. In the eyes of the Invaders, the defenders are just hoarders of resources and other things that could help improve the lives of the Invading kingdom. The Colonization. The story promises a great struggle from the perspective defeated power of Fire Nation. From what I gleaned from the story so far, it seems that the your rebel has something to say to us. I love the way the story is moving. I love the character but I will try not to be judgemental before rewatching the anime and reading the first book... If you haven't read the 1st novel, please, do so. And do come back for this story. It's amazing.

You have an excellent piece of work here. I read parts of the prequel, so I wasn't lost. But I think anyone who has ever taken an interest in Avatar will find it easy to understand Even if not, it's an interesting book on its own. It's good enough to be adapted into a movie. Also, for readers who love long, juicy story details, you'll definitely get your time and money's worth here. Great job overall👍

I have always been a big lover of the avatar and I was instantly intrigued by this fan fiction. The writer's skills have certainly improved over time and the book is simple and enjoyable, just the way I like my books. I am hoping it will be longer than your last book, really great work.

Great sequel you're doing here, I noticed a improvement of your writing from the other one. The characters as like the other are really enjoyable. The only point here to improve is the writing (grammar) and it would be good to improve the World Background. I now that's a fanfic based in another world, however for a first reader it would be great to have some context. All in all, keep the good work :)

If you're looking for a new story to enjoy related to the Avatar Universe, this is a great place to start. Lingering Tensions is the sequel to the "Avatar: Macai's Journey (AMJ)" but it does a good job of creating a fresh new feel and tone for readers. Similar to how each season of AMJ felt different, you are in for a different experience with this one. While AMJ had more of a "grey" tone, this story has a "darker" vibe to it. AMJ was a story about an anti-hero who had a villain role due to upbringing. It showed how the "bad guys" aren't always as "bad" as they seem (because they often just grew up differently and could change). This story is about the "real" bad people who know that they're bad. But they choose to stick on their path because it is all they have ever known. Anyone is capable of going on this path of vanity. Denial and stubbornness are usually the first steps to vanity. Characters are fleshed out as usual, moral lessons are active, and an epic adventure awaits.

The writing is pretty easy to go through, and there are no ongoing words or dialogue.

I thought I could read more but, you only have one chapter until now. The writing is good and concise. I didn't find any unnecessary or long-winded explanations or dialogues. I appreciate the 'show, don't tell' in the first chapter, if not it would be monotonous.
