Era of Extinction

One day, all humans received a message from what they imagined being God, saying that the end was near. To face the inevitable end, God allowed humans to access the Eternal Battlefield, where they could acquire the power they needed to survive.

The end came, destroying the entire solar system and everything humanity had built.

The brave humans who fought on the Eternal Battlefields traded everything they had won for a small chance of survival, and so a fraction of the human race escaped in colossal hive ships and wandered through space in search of a second chance.

Centuries later, the hive ships are old and overcrowded, ignored by the human elite who are protected in their own space stations.

Every day humanity comes closer to extinction.

And it is in one of these hive ships that Heitor was born and raised, waiting day after day for the age to come when he can be tested by God's will and finally take part in the eternal war.

Well, here we are.
This is the first story I've published, so any criticism is very welcome.
Some may have already noticed, but English is not my native language (I'm pretty bad, actually), so I'm using some online tools to translate, then I'll review it looking for errors... in any case, I'd appreciate it if you could comment on the wrong sentences and suggest a correction.

Having said all that, this story will have some similarities (at least at the beginning) with SUPREME LORD: I CAN EXTRACT EVERYTHING!... I've always liked reading about this genre of stories, but most of them are pretty bad, with SUPREME LORD being a pleasant surprise, and my story is a contribution to this genre, whether it will be good or bad only the future will tell.

PS: Writing is a hobby, so attendance will be low.
