Synopsis
The Red Duchess, having fallen ill, left behind a son named Orpheus who would know peace only in the fondness of fractured memories. Alongside his fiery hair, he holds the tainted blood of the Blackwells, who exiled him in favour of the Dagon family’s scourge that is his younger half-sister.
Beneath the shadow of his family legacy, one to which he is most unwelcome, Orpheus has departed smothered in spite and disdain. But his fate seems tied to a rather bothersome companion, a boisterous barbarian of Dagon blood. Alongside one another they trek troubled waters, balancing themselves between silver-tongued nobles and relentless bloodshed.
Set in the Nedourian Empire, where the arcane runs rampant and the elite classes rule in absolutes, this story follows these kindred spirits as they find their place in the lands - uncompromising to the costs of others.

It has a much heavier writing style than what I expected. Some typos to fix and sentences to shorten and clear up. But it is a quality writing! Just kept me hooked, and once I'll have the time to give it a full read, I'll come back to it! It will be a fine addition to my collection. At the point where I'm at, I can't really talk about world building or character design yet. It seems to be a very slow burn and very detailed novel, but I'm yet to see the bigger picture. It certainly made me curious for the rest though! Will update my rating once I got there, and I can only see this score increase!
Very well written fiction that made me unable to stop myself from reading more. Highly Recommend
All in all the story has me pretty hooked, I'm enjoying the characters greatly! I am really enjoying the character interactions and that seems to be a heavier focus so far in where I'm reading! All in all I would give it a high review so far!
This novel is seriously well-written, like, the world the author made is super cool and interesting. It was a little slow in parts for my taste, but that's just me and I'm only 7 chapters in. There were a couple of sentences and word choices that I would've done differently for some extra oomph. But overall? Great read – definitely something different than the usual stuff you see on Webnovel. Cover's nice too. I'm not sure, but I think they made it themselves? 4.6/5 - Has a lot of potential.🤔
Wow, this was honestly so well written. It kind of makes up for it with the update stability. Not the kind of content I'd find in WebNovel, I could feel the passion put into this. Have only read until 6, but it was honestly so intriguing.
This is normally not the kind of story I would read but I thoroughly enjoyed it. If you are looking for a story that you will enjoy and spend a good amount of time on, then I recommend this one.
