Write a reviewcons: 1. it's a harem later into the story, but there are no tags for it. 2. translation is not that good, like constantly calling mc "Hamilton detective" instead of detective Hamilton, or Mc's pet is always called "cat Mia" instead of Mia the cat or just Mia for short. then there is some confusion with gender pronouns and first/3rd person povs. 3. pacing issues in some instances other than these, the story is pretty good at least in the 400 chapters that I've read, just not at lotm level despite being heavily inspired by it.
Completed 290 chapters. I like the story and character development and I also like the mystery. But I don't like the fact MC does not keep all his secrets, I mean he will share his secret for no good reason. If he wants he can hide his secrets and lie about it and nobody would know. Otherwise, I love it.
the author seems to have taken inspiration from the "Lord of Mysteries" but it is very much their story and a good one once you get into it.
This seems like an interesting story from the first few chapters ive read. However, I really can't gleam much from the synopsis, I dont really know much about the mc. I've had this trouble with some other books on here.
Just like LOTM the MC transmigrated out of nowhere, the story has mysteries in it surrounding him (Like the detective death/House he live in). Everything is good, I have rated character design especially the MC a solid 3 star but everything else fluctuates between 4-5 stars. One thing i didn't like about the story is how the MC is constantly involved and entangled to PPL beyond him (Deity/Higher Circle sorcerer) despite being only a first circle sorcerer. It ok if it happen once (Like in LOTM at the end of volume 1) but many times is frustrating. What i also bothering me is his trait of "Righteously Dumb" while just stepping into sorcery (First circle sorcerer) he promised to actively seek and help the prophesied 13 chosen ones into incoming crisis with his reason of "This will involve me in the future so I'll help you to your quest (To the Diviner). Which is absurd to me, even Klein will not say it especially when he is become a sorcerer/Beyonder.
this is easily one of my favorite novels. I'm also a sucker for steampunk themed stories and this one is a great one. While the translation sometimes mistakes she for him or some names but usually its good. If it had a dedicated translator it woudlve been even better.
The worldbuilding is amazing and the premise is really good. It's a pity that the translation is horrible (inconsistent names and poor grammar) and that the author failed to tag it as harem.
So I've read this up to chapter 660. The translation is ok but not great as it sometimes messes up characters names but the actual story is pretty good. It is harem so if you care about that you have been warned. The story is fun and pretty gripping, its setting is cool and LOTM inspired being steampunk in nature. Updates are very frequent and consistent. My biggest criticism for it is the translation but compared to other sources of this story this translation is much much better and with its consistent updates will catch up to those other sources in no time. I recommend reading this one.
great potential although at first glance is another novel inspired by lotm, the pacing and plot is one of the better ones that showcase some quality compared to other similar trope novels
This book is still underrated because most don't know about it yet. I love the concept and storyline
I read this novel under a much better name, Whispering Verses. Of course, it was MTL and not very good but even with that, it managed to captivate me just as much as LoTM. That doesn't mean I'm claiming it to be on the same level as the GOAT, but it isn't bad at all to scratch that itch so I recommend it. I do wonder why Qidian decided to change its name, Whispering Verses is a much better title tbh and it encapsulates an important aspect of the story. In any case, I hope WN does this novel justice and I can't wait to complete this novel.
