Synopsis
Ozul reincarnated as a Disturbed Umbra, a monster at the bottom of the food chain. Will he keep his humanity, or fight against his former species?
Ozul found himself encircled by boulders in a massive cavern. Dozens of shadowy wisps like creatures floated all around. It reminded him of looking into an aquarium and seeing the encaged fish swimming along in their depressed existence. "Well, this doesn’t look promising," Ozul thought as his excitement was crushed. He tried running his fingers through his hair but came to a horrifying realization. “What the hell?! Where are my arms?!” he screamed. A sudden nauseating feeling washed over him, his body felt wrong and distorted. Shocked, Ozul froze and thought, "I’m not human!" Taking a deep breath, he peered down, and terror filled him. He looked similar to the creatures flying overhead. He had sections of darkened ribcage sticking out of a ghostly black body. He had no arms or legs, and everything was shadowy and shifting like a slow-moving current.

Great world building. I'm looking forward to seeing where this story takes Ozul. There are a ton of different directions the story could go, so there's potential for this to have many chapters before it ends. I'm interested in learning about the other creatures Ozul will run into and how he'll deal with the challenges of his new world :)
I've been really enjoying this story and the character development. Ozul's decisions seem realistic for his circumstances. The fights scenes are to the point and describe really well.
I’ve really enjoyed the 10 chapters that are available so far and I cannot wait for the author to add more. I especially like the pace of the writing as it’s slow enough to explain what’s happening, but fast enough to keep you enthralled and wanting more! The world building is excellent! I’m excited to know what happens next with the psychological development of Ozul the main character. I see strife and hardship but all to get to a goal of a deeper meaning of his human and other dimensional life form. Excellent first novel from this author!
wow you spend a lot of time on set up, which I appreciate to a point. I think you could afford to be more efficient with your words. The long paragraphs repeat ideas and are unnecessary. Comb through the chapters and trim the fat from your work and it will be more enjoyable to read

So far this looks like a very interesting and good novel. It is a fresh concept as you don't really see non human characters often on webnovel.
I love this, there’s a new twist every chapter and I’m really excited to see where the MC goes with his development and skills and just his overall personality too.

This is a unique take on the dystopian world story. The world-building is wonderful, the author did a wonderful job in plotting the story. I was hooked from chapter 1, the descriptions did that. Looking forward to more chapters.
