Synopsis

"Candles by design burn, and life by design ends. In the meantime doesn't it smell nice?" - Lola Viktor

"I have betrayed anyone I ever loved. I know what I did, and I know why I did it. More than anything I want them all back. I don't want to be alone." - Tyde Viktor

"I have watched the heavens fall as a child. All of its splendor rained down on us and blessed us with its fertility. The demigods frequented my mothers tent, she was our village whore. I had too many siblings to count and none of us knew of our father. The village elders didn't know what to do with us so he made us follow the shepherds hunt, hoping we would die off on our own." - Dior Vain

**************************************

In a world where gods and demons grant powers to those who vow loyalty to them, a war wages between the abyss and the peaks. The oceans have dried up centuries ago, and the vast body of water that once covered 70% of the earth now fills the sky above the clouds. There in the "Oasis", beings known as demigods rule the abyss and its inhabitants, trying with all their efforts to wipe out the human race.

Where the deep coral crevice's of the ocean floor left barren by the lack of water are portals that spawn flesh eating creatures from the depths of hell known as ghouls. A mysterious fog has covered this region of once oceans and it has since been called the abyss.

The ghouls and the demigods army has pushed humanity to the brinks of peaks of mountain tops. There, they have created a safe haven and floating islands where the most powerful vessels (people who have been granted powers by demons or gods) dwell. This new thriving civilization is called the peaks.

Growing up along the coast between the peaks and the abyss has been incredibly difficult for Tyde and Dior. They have both been orphaned due to the war and through unfortunate circumstances, been granted powers of their own. In a sudden twist of events, they are cornered with a choice to side with the abyss or to side with the peaks. Either option seemed hopeless. Why not eliminate them both?

5 stars for a novel with great potential. Bro knows how to describe his world clearly, even better than I 😂 not to mention the satisfying grammar and chapter length. MC is also cool and somewhat unpredictable. 5 chapters in and my only issue with the novel is that there's a lot of confusing info scattered around. I think author should make an auxiliary chapter and do some explanations for his world and the different races in it. Other than that, it's a very good book. READ IT!

Inspired by a combination of Shadow Slave, Red Rising, and Percy Jackson. If that’s your cup of tea, this is for you. I love silly humor and understanding the inner workings of character. I hope to bring out the best in all the characters write. Feel free to ask away, I’d love to hear your thoughts and comments. Happy reading!

This has a unique way to tell their story. Author is pretty funny and that is enjoyable in it's own way.I especially like the characters. They were put in with good details while keeping the story flowing perfectly. It's a well written read. I look foward to seeing more of this.

Good writing. The story flow smoothly from one scene to another. But the main thing is, the mc is a turn off for me. Apart from that the world building could use a bit of work.

I really like the way the writer puts their story into words! I’m looking forward for more chapters and where it will lead at the end. Good job 👏

This novel is pretty good! I'm not fully caught up or anything, but from the start of it I found myself enjoying the prose. It is very dynamic and flows masterfully. On top of that, there is little to no grammatical errors that I caught. I hope the novel continues to be stable in its updates (good health and motivation to the author). The story seems to be developing quite well, though I'm not too entirely sure of the main character's goals outside of just surviving in this post apocalyptic world. Speaking of this world, the worldbuilding is very interesting! Like AHHH, surfers, divers, shepherds: what is typically "nothing" jobs (the choices are interesting, I cannot wait to see how they develop from here) now appears as factions vying for control and power as they attempt to survive against and with each other. Not to mention the ghouls that roam the world. The characters that fight against the ghouls are quite interesting people, especially Zara. I recommend.

While I'm not too big a fan of the sort of system that this novel entails, I think the setting the author builds is absolutely marvelous. It reminds me of the shadows that need to be circumnavigated in 'Shadow and Bone'. Moreover, this brings up unique job occupations that one wouldn't normally consider to be 'important' to society as much as they are in the novel - being surfers and divers. Since the setting is very waterbased, these two individuals are seemingly adept in fighting, as many of the sea creatures we think about as not being a danger to humans are very much so in this world. While I'm not sure how the patron demoness connects to the main character yet, it seems like an enticing enough power system for a lot of readers. The grammar in this novel is very good, and the prose is quite understandable and paints a good picture of the events, especially the fight scenes against the creatures that lurk in the water. I would highly recommend giving this novel a chance, if only to experience a very unique atmosphere and world built by the author.

First of all, I find the art style of the cover so fascinating, it's just refreshing to see that style here in WN. , When I am reading, it feels like I'm reading a traditional novel because of the good usage of words and phrases. Poetic and descriptive. The story is easy to follow and it's very immersive. I also like that the story takes us to action at the very first episode, it really hooked me into reading more. I can't say much about the characters because the story is just fresh, But the design and description are very well-portrayed, especially the MC. World bg is cool too, I understood the setting right away. Even though it only has few chapters, overall the premise is good. Definitely will put it on my reading list.

The Story tosses you straight into the action which I liked. It is fast paced and just like the characters, you have a choking feeling like you can not get a break. The writing style is haunting which fits the genre and the characters are well detailed.

The strengths Writing Style Characters Story Development Very detailed and immersive. There was no problem with the flow and style. It kept me hooked for more until the last chapter. Character dynamics and relationship with he characters are well written. Cons Capitalization of words after the comma. I found some irregularities with the words after the comma. Unless it's a proper noun words should be kept in lower case of its following the comma. There's no syntax or major grammar issue I found other than that.

I like how well-explained the characters are, and how their emotions are well conveyed. I can almost imagine them. We start with an action-filled story from the first chapter, and it seems to continue like that. I recommend this read.

Overall, it’s a great start to a decently funny tale. The main characters powers are quite funny but make sense. I like how this writing reminds me of how Konosuba’s light novel was written. Great start for a potential great web novel!
