Synopsis

From Marvel to Hogwarts;
From the Philosopher's Stone to the Mind Stone;
Wes Elwin’s goal has never changed — to transcend everything and become eternal.

And that starts by being a Professor in Hogwarts.

"You're really considering that kid for the position of a professor?" The gloomy simp asked.

"Snape, he's a bright kid, we'll see." The Headmaster simply smiled.

My Review This novel starts off pretty strong with an interesting concept, but the deeper it goes, the more the cracks start to show. One of the early issues is that the author doesn’t seem fully familiar with the original Harry Potter lore. Spells are changed into generic names like “fireball” instead of Incendio and “black flame” instead of Fiendfyre, and changing the effect of some of the actual spells in Harry Potter that he was able to spell out in the story without mistake, but the effect was completely different from the original, which feels off if you know the canon and breaks immersion a bit. Then there’s the mummy world arc. The protagonist, who was terrified of Mephisto — a literal Lord of Hell’s projection — suddenly decides it’s a great idea to provoke ancient Egyptian gods just because he’s curious. There’s no real benefit or reason behind it, and he almost dies as a result. That makes the conflict feel forced, like drama just for the sake of drama. Not only that, but from that point onward he starts acting like a villain… without gaining anything from it. It contradicts the careful, benefit-focused personality we saw early in the story. The pacing also becomes a problem. Entire worlds get skipped or rushed through in a few paragraphs. One moment, he’s still in another universe; the next, he’s suddenly back in Harry Potter continuing canon events as if nothing happened. It feels like we’re missing chapters that should have developed both the plot and the character. And speaking of the protagonist — he’s present throughout the story, but we never truly get to know him. His personality is hidden behind a wall of constant power-showing. He starts acting like the typical cultivation protagonist who drags battles out just to look cool. There’s barely any emotional depth or real internal growth, which makes it hard to feel invested in him when he’s supposed to be the heart of the story. Despite all of these flaws, the novel is still somewhat enjoyable — especially early on. It has a lot of potential and a creative premise. But the execution feels rushed, and the focus shifts from meaningful development to unnecessary drama and constant flexing of power. That shift honestly damaged the story for me. Overall, I’d give it a 2.8 / 5. Good start, good idea — but sadly, the writing decisions later on hold it back from becoming what it could’ve been.

The translator did a good job but the original writer (CN) clearly have shallow understanding about the source material. Enjoyable to read for people who's not gonna nitpick on anything unaccurate

Very interesting take on HP and Marvel stories it felt rushed at the start but once it settled into the plot the flow was great. I like the idea of his system but its not well hashed out for how it works for rating his power level. I believe this is a translation and if it is in fact one it is one of the best translations I have read with none of the common tropes so the editing must be great.

I don't know if this is a translation, but it is really well done. The story doesn't stall, and the MC actually has a spine and gets things done without mushy feelings and guilt trips. please carry on and if this is in fact a translation call you share the original name?

Wes was literally on the defence against two demons and couldn't even take out one, and actually had the guts to say Carter was struggling with one guy, no he was shoved to the ground and when he got up he shotgunned one demon and shotgunned another demon that attacking Wes, Mc has learned all these spells yet can't even take down one demon, they're pretty weak and your spells that aren't from that world should have at least some devastating attack, like bruh. Even against Voldamort, he was struggling. Bro talks like everyone is easy kill but has a hard time trying to kill them. Mc is so weak. Lol 💩🤣 (Chapter 19)

Good book thus far, is it a TL though? If it is you are a good translator as well.

I’m honestly amazed by how vividly you write. Each moment feels alive, the kind of writing that instantly paints a scene in your mind. As someone who turns stories into comics and illustrations through commissions, I could immediately see yours coming to life visually. If that ever interests you, I’d love to share some ideas.
