Synopsis
Faithful to canon RI history and rules. No system, no harem, no cheats.
One of my aims was to showcase the later introduced cultivation rules into the mortal cultivation (dao marks, attainment, etc.) and explore novel scenarios within this highly technical cultivation environment.
Story: Back in the Late Antiquity Era, the protagonist meets his untimely demise. But Heaven and Earth always leave a way out, his new cultivation journey begins anew on the path of reclaiming his former strength and defying Fate.
This is a story about a native cultivator of the Gu world. He lived in the era of/before Spectral Soul Demon Venerable (two venerable eras before the main RI plot). He suffered the rise of the demon venerable, barely able to make his arrangements before his death. He manages to rebirth but doesn't everything go as planned. The story starts off in an isolated small word (grotto heaven), until the MC can grow and reclaim his former glory, before surpassing it. (he was already rank 8 before) The MC has a pragmatic worldview, aligned with what you would expect from someone living hundreds of years in that kind of hostile environment. He doesn't shy away from immoral acts if it benefits him. The MC bears a close resemblance to Fang Yuan in this regard, but his goal is not eternal life.

Tiis work is really great , Auther has taken his time in thinking about the plot very well . The chapter are longer than usual which is good cosidering the somewhat long time between every chapter and the great quality of the work itself. Thanks for making a great art for others to see ❤️.
Started off good, but quickly become a tedious and lackluster story. The initial interest surrounding the characters dissappeared as they lost any semblance of meaning and personality, making it hard to even recognize them among the multitude of randomly appearing individuals. The protagonist, who was previously rank 8, literally does nothing of interest after being reincarnated. The lack of new Gu worms in a supposedly big city, coupled with the protagonist's many inheritances that only end up being sold into auction, but only few Gu worms are shown, that either fade into obscurity or have no impact on the plot whatsoever. Despite having good opportunities to advance, he continually chooses the most mundane and illogical ways, devoid of any planning or strategy. For countless chapters, he struggles to make any progress in adjusting his Dao marks or awakening his aperture, and not refining anything, resorting to a risky and seemingly pointless methods. However, conveniently, when the plot demands it, he suddenly becomes capable of doing the impossible. The absence of descriptions of the locations, environment, and people, as a result the world-building suffers. Each passing chapter is more boring, further into aimlessness, devoid of any structure. The protagonist's limited schemes, his strategies lack depth and planning, from basic backstabbing or risky and unsatisfying decisions that result in his death. The initially slow pacing, becomes inconsistent, dragging the narrative into a tiresome monotonous cultivation and drawn-out explanations about the Gu system, where he sits as a tree all day helping some traitor who killed his brother.
Brilliant, this Ri fanfiction is simply brilliant. There are many things I like about this fanfiction, the main character is likable and knows what he is doing. The plot is good, the writing style is also somewhat similar to Ri( another plus for me). This fan fiction has retained majority of essence from the original Ri. The author is really hard-working and talented, another plus. And It's glorified Ri fanfiction, the biggest plus. Negative: with a gun pointed at my head, I'll say this; the update rate isn't all that satisfactory, but I can't really complain. After all, the author isn't really making a living out of this(Idk really, are u). And not to mention, making good content isn't as easy as it seems, but we still need more(I am greedy) So that's that, all in all, it's pretty good Fan Fiction. I hope one day, you create a masterpiece of your own(not fanfiction)
This looks so promising. I love the idea of mortal cultivation with the comprehension of Dao a Rank 8 Gu Immortal has accumulated. I can't wait to see where you take this.
Hello there my fellow brothers, who seek to prolong and expand their journey in the Gu World. 1. Let's start with 'Writing Quality'. This aspect of the story is done really well. Style of writing is similar to RI and in my opinion it's a great advantage of this fic, since you can feel that progression of story takes place in the same cold, unforgiving and so familiar to us world of RI. Though it must be said, tha author didn't just tried to imitate Gu Zhen Ren's style, but added his own touch to it. (Yes, there were few moments in the story, which maybe could have been done better, but it doesn't really affect whole work + It's not very critical). 2. To be short about updates: they're on time and stable. 3. Frankly speaking, 37 chapters is miniscule amount of content (drop in ocean to be exact), if we want to draw accurate and not shallow conclusion. But considering a tempo of events happening along the way, I'll allow myself to say that development of a story is great. 4. I think design of characters is done pretty good, but when again to truly see their depth and make final say about them, we'd need to wait a liitle bit more, still this part of the story is solid and actions of characters are logical and don't contradict with their personalities. 5. World buiding is done well, even considering pace of the story, style of writing allows author to create a beautiful background along with a complicated polical situation within a clan. In the end, I want to say: Good job! The fic isn't stupidly made and story has enougth potential to truly bloom and to become amazing tale to read and enjoy. Really enjoyed this story so far and I'll will be waiting for more.

It's short so far, 4 chapters, 1 a week, but enjoyable. My own criticism is lack of chapters. But that's not a story flaw in any way. The main character is a former immortal, so it jumps right into the meat of the content without the need for too much build up. It has multiple perspectives to flesh out the story world. It doesn't try anything too extreme or cheat-y like some fanfiction do and stays true enough to the story and its world's rules. I look forward to seeing more.
One of the rare RI ff still updatingwort it reading, appreciate the different setting instead of other ff starting the same way. I would like to have more focus story on OC mc and maybe existing characters in the original novel (if alive or same timeline). In general one of the best active ff around. Raccomended
Thank you thunder taters for writing this. It is probably the only faithful RI fanfic I have seen so far, add on top the storytelling and writing style, it almost feels like an official spin-off to the original, it is that well-written.
Story is great there are almost no writing mistakes and characters actually feel alive.

21 Ch in and writing quality has improved. The background politics and scheming is going good too. You still failed to improve the description part. Only that Grand Formation has decent description. Don't forget Gu also have appearances. Make sure to describe them well. Now time to stockpile until ch50
great novel by any means I appreciate the world setting and everything but for god's sake please update frequently or this novel will be forgotten. Ps hope gu has nothing to do with DAO marks even with millions of dao marks I bet it can still enlighten you and I doubt the protagonist can find hope gu since it is most likely refined by heaven like wisdom gu.
Why is there an option for authors to review their own works? This hardly seems fair? But what is fair in life? So don't mind me, shamelessly rating 5 stars. You have to stand up for your own interests, ya know? So yeah, how many words left till I can submit this?
