If he get’s more gold then he can improve his territory and strength faster. The more power he has the faster his territory grows and the faster the territory grows the faster he will earn achievements points. As the achievement points gain rate would likely follow a pattern of compound interest due to the higher scale it would be even smarter to convert achievement points into gold earlier in the game’s progression. Not exchanging to have some merit to lean on is preparing for failure, and that’s worse than preparing at all.

Seems like this would be a terribly broken pay-to-win game mechanic. irl rich ppl who are Lord players could cash in and use gold to hire copious amounts of workers and mercs from player guilds etc.
