I might be the only one to have this opinion but this is a logical progression of the themes in the story and this has been foreshadowed from the beginning. We knew that aristocratic families hold a lot of power and a global government would necessitate the conglomeration of aristocrats around the globe in order to be punching the same weight.
I am surprised Ouyang is still so calm even though he now knows the Silver Hand is going to not only help his internal enemies(yan alliance) but also his external ones(japan and spain). I get it he has a strong army and navy but that only gets you so far especially if they just send sheer numbers at him. Not to mention that when he does go to war with Japan and Spain he still has to be wary of being back stabbed by the Yan alliance in his own country. Although he could use the Yan alliance attacking him when he is out conquering to turn the normal players against them.I am interested to see how the Spanish plan to beat Ouyangs navy when they already got wrecked by him when he was just out on expedition and did not have a decent foundation for war(military bases, food, etc). Plus I feel like Caesar is a bit late to the game in just now getting his navy but who knows maybe he is a silver hand member as well so Jack Dawson go send people and technical manuals to help him out as well. I get that the President wants to see Ouyang's capabilities but I feel like at this point his actions up until now should be enough to get some form of assistance especially considering he is probably the strongest non aristocratic lord in the world. I know Jack Dawson,Spain, and probably this Caesar guy are all severely underestimating his capabilities but those capabilities only go so far when your enemy has sheer numbers and in Jack Dawsons firearms which based on what has been said completely blow away(ha see what I did there) all of the competition.
I guess? I barely feel the MCs presence in this novel though... he's more like a voice of the author. Most, if not all, of the action is because of his subordinates while he occasionally guides them. It's rather dry at times.
Hell I even enjoy reading about his interactions with his sister more than the actual plot.
Also, for such a monogamous individual, his marriage is a joke and romance is virtually nonexistent. Think I've read more words of him turning down women than actually being with his wife.
welp author just admitted Di chen and his family have been abusing admin powers. LOL. Well, they had special admin access to kill/rape anyone they wanted.
if he doesnt establish a country in the next 10 chapters, i think ill be done. this book has been going on side tracks ever since they mentioned building a country.
