Idiot MC treating sentient beings as NPCs or anime characters is annoying

i can't tell how it will be so im going to just read to the end then judge how the story goes. it won't be the first time i read a story that sucked to the end or a story that started out bad but got better.

I’m confused by his mentality, wouldn’t it be smarter to go with the flow and enjoy the time in the world while getting stronger. Sure he has to leave, but that shouldn’t matter, he can still have fun. So I’m confused as to why he limits himself so much.
