How does living for hundreds of thousands of years make you smart enough to make a sentient AI? The way I see it as he lives through eras he would be gaining the knowledge of said era so shouldn't he only be the smartest in the era? Sure tech decades ahead is possible but an AI that teases him like a wife???

Secret base was definitely the right call. He would,have semisecret bases and public ones, too. Semisecret are those meant to be found. Public ones give him an address for his identity to function out of.

I like the secret base and how low profile the family is. Probably, emotionally, that's enough for him to handle at any given time through his long years.
