Oh, this is such a tender chapter full of hurt & regret but underlining it all is their love. The reason they are both hurting is because of their love for eachother. He is almost crippled by his family’s circumstance & is desperate to keep Angela by his side while she is totally overwhelmed by all this knowledge of the Mafia. She wanted to be with Gael so badly that she chose him & his darker side but reality has bitten her & now she is hurt & afraid. I don’t think Gael will ever stop wanting Angela but will she choose to be with him again? I love the description of them holding hands & their embrace ...it really showed their anguish. The acidic tear - symbolic of both their pain. Beautifully written - I expect an emotional chapter is hard to compose. Thanks Nixxxie!!!!!

Angela and Gael truly love each other. They share a bond and connection to each other. They are both complicated characters. Both are hurt by what has happened: Angela feels betrayed and Gael feels like his world is the reason for this agony. To the best of his ability he explained the situation, his family life has to be kept a secret. When Gael holds her at the end, it just makes me want to cry. He will and always love her and be there for her. Just holding her and spending the day with her means everything to Angela. It’s all worth the wait 💕
