For some reason I do not find it coherent that Harry has to kill Remus to remove an ally of the potters I think that with a powerful obliviate or curse that incapacitates him to remove him from the setting of history it would be more reasonable

Harry wants to avenge his parents (not the biological ones, but the ones who welcomed him as a child) however I don't understand what this has to do with Remus' murder. Revenge should be unleashed on Dumbledore and his biological parents, so I don't understand what Remus has to do with it.
