Title of chapter: Ceremony
I fell asleep while my mother doing her last job today. When I get up, I am already on the bed in my home. It is morning already. The door opened, and my mother come in.
"Good morning mummy!" I smiled.
She pinches my cheeks softly and smiled back to me.
"How did you sleep last night Yaya? Good?"
"Um! I did sleep well." I love to see my mother's face when I get up from the bed. Her bright smile will motivate me. Even if I had a worst nightmare, when I see her smile, I will be happy again. I hope that I can be a child forever so that I don't need to go away from her. I want to live with her forever.
"Let's have our breakfast!" Mum said while caressed my head. I nod and follow my mom from the back. She looks more charming from behind! We sit down on the wooden floor and start eating.
Mum walked me to the school. As we are in front of the school gate, she squatted in front of me and look at me in the eyes.
"Yaya…mummy will go to work now. You must study well okay?" Mummy caressed my head, waved her hand and walked away. I keep looking at her until I can't see her back.
It is school award ceremony for the students that get a great grad today…and I was one of them. I didn't tell my mother about it because I want to give her a surprise. After all, she has a lot of work to do.
'ding dong…ding dong'
It's time for the ceremony. I walked to the hall with a smile on my face.
'Mummy must be very happy when she sees my certificate…' I mumbled.
A teacher approaches me.
"Eh? Your mother didn't come with you?"
I shook my head.
"Teacher, she has a lot of work to do, so she can't come to see me."
Teacher Rena look at my eyes. Well, you can say that it's long. She stares me for five seconds…it's a bit abnormal don't you think so? But then she smiled to me and heave a sigh.
"Okay…let's go to the hall." She takes my hands and we walked to the well decorated hall.
I looked around. All of the student has their parents at their side…even the students that is not going to get an award have their parents by their side. I look down…almost dropped my tears. Maybe teacher Rena noticed my action so she caressed my back.
"Suyaa, don't be sad. You have to go to stage so don't let your eyes get swollen."
I looked at teacher Rena's face. She's right…I need to be captured with a happy face and not a swollen eye.
"Okay teacher, thank you." I said and smiled to her.
