Starting this novel with a goose chase was a rather interesting take. It was refreshing to read. Although, it was a scene set in the future, so it somehow made me lean towards that occurrence rather than being mystified. It's like I know what's going to happen already so the suspense was cut off. However, it was still a good narration! Aleina's parents are such aholes, that I just want to be a character in this story and slap them repeatedly, Sabrina too. No wonder that the future Aleina can fend for herself against Alex, because she grew up with such psychopaths that she had to cultivate the strength in her heart and mind. I'm vouching for Aleina x Aiden (please don't kill me) I love that Aleina still has such adorable innocence despite the ordeal she's suffering from her parents' unreasonable favouritism. I do have qualms in some incorrect verb tenses in your passages, but they're easily corrected so no worries. Watch out for run-ons and comma splices resulting from absence/misuse of punctuation marks. Overall, the pacing was quite the average, not hasty or slow, just the right one. I love that you're not skimping on your descriptions. For me, it's better to read wordy scenic descriptions rather than some simple adjectives. Please be confident in your writing skills!
