Ok there I need you to explain to me in detail how the romance of the MC will unfold (spoiler included) throughout because if it ends with blood-blood (although I appreciate it enormously) I will stop there direct. I don't understand what the problem is with authors, loving someone who is more or less the same age as you does not necessarily mean that you have to love her he lost his parents and that's the only p ***** family who has it you surprise me that he cares about her but I don't understand where the love is from in all this already firstly she is 3 years younger than him and secondly he could have just had a big brother / little sister relationship with her because here I am in chapter 355 and I am seriously starting to be afraid

I pretty like maoni’s book. Nightfall is the first English version of Chinese fantasy novel I have ever read. So wonderful!

After reading LOTM, I've been desperate searching for a novel that is at least close in quality to it...and after reading this..I'm happy to say that I'm satisfied

I never read the manhua nor this book. But I do know one thing. This novel was popular enough in China that it got it's own TV series. and 2 seasons no less. Search up Jiang Ye or 将夜 or Ever Night the opening, closing, and music track is my all time favorite. The ending was a but iffy for me though.

The story seems to be very promising without any super obvious tropes from the average novel. However the translation quality is just awful. It honestly kills any motivation I have to read Nightfall. It is with great reluctance that I stop reading this, because it seems like a great novel that is ruined by an abhorrent translation. There also is a clear lack of effort, as there are a lot of mistakes that are extremely simple to solve while editing. Very unfortunate! I wish I could give 0 stars for the translation quality.

the story is an absolute gem but the translation is horrible. u guys may think the translation ok considering other novels on this site but believe me this author is amazing and translation lost all this magic. I find it even more atrocious cause this novel used to be translated by others groups before and I read those chapter. It was translated in the name Jiang ye in mechmushroom translations. go check out their translation on a chapter and you will see the difference, if I rate their translation as 10/10 this would the around 3.5/10. But the story is amazing and we don't have a choice so stick with it I guess.

novel is quite strange to say the least, I almost cooked my brain reading it. There's a chance and not a small one that my pig brain just couldn't keep up with reading it or things were lost in translation, it was probably the accumulation of multiple reasons that I have to say I stopped reading, but for some reason believe this story is good

Excrllent novel, my favourite of all time. Kid goes from villager to strong dude all the while accompanied by sangsang (FL). wholesome, intense and sad.

I watched the show first, and since I've heard that the other seasons are worthless, I'm happy to read the original work. It's a really interesting story ,quite different than the show, I'm glad I picked it up. The translation would benefit for a good editing though.

It was a wild ride. First time coming into contact with a character like Ning Que's. The author did a damn fine job too. I never ounce found him frustrating or hateful, which if very rare because mst protags lowkey do. (One work that comes to mind is BLACK HAZE a manga). Its a long read but was never boring, i found myself on edge and bonus point it had a happy ending😊😄

Go read if you are tired of goody two shoes male lead and everlasting beauty female lead.

I find it interesting that people feel the need to know who the main character is by chapter one, clearly the characters introduced will likely have some significance. Not every novel has to have everyone else but the main character be 2 dimensional and forgettable. As for Mao Ni's writing style, I feel a lot of things struggle to be communicated through the cultural barriers of the chinese language/culture. His work seems to he heavily influenced by Taoism, confucianism and chinese poetry which require an understanding of metaphors to be understood. The pacing of his novels tend to be slow, which again isnt to most webnovel readers liking. Most people want explosions, humour, a system, face slapping and a pace that keeps them on the edge of their seats chapter after chapter. Nothing wrong with that, it just isn't in this particular novel, or at least not at the pace that most would like.

I must say I have searched for this translation for weeks as I have finished binging the drama part 1 and 2 and now I've found it its everything I hoped for. Cant wait to finish it.

Really enjoyed this book, especially after watching the actual drama, the imagery is so well enhanced. The MC seems like a more fun character here than in S1

This book is awesome. It definitely is very different from typical Webnovels. It is very in depth and descriptive. To be honest, the drama Ever Night (drama that was based on this story) was what drew me in. I loved the first season of that drama. However, with the second season, the quality deteriorated terribly when the replaced most of the cast. It was totally different and hard to watch. With this novel, I can continue the drama in my imagination the way I believe it should go. So I am really thankful to have able to read this. 💓

Currently reading this wonderful novel, which the tv series Nightfall and Nightfall 2 is base on, looking forward to reading more of Mao Ni's works. Keep up the good work.
