Really like the novel and the world background is very well written

I like how the system works, especially when the MC draws to get a new passive skill it makes me curious as to what skill the MC will get next.

For those looking for a comedy cultivation novel, I highly recommend this novel, not only is it very funny to read but the storyline is also good, full of conspiracy and intrigue. (but I don't recommend it for those who prefer seriousness and don't like comedy because maybe you think the comedy in this novel is a bit forced and too scary to read)

Generally the novels start is weak, as it relies on slapstick comedy a lot, later on(after the windcloud competition) the comedy slowly advances and becomes smarter even though there is still a lot of physical comedy, even later on(after white cave) the comedy is phased out and the novel becomes more serious. Worldbuilding only really starts after he leaves the tiansang spirt palace the first time(before that there is basically only exposition into the powersystem, maybe some mysteries) but at least as far as I read (ch 2150) its solid enough that there aren't any plotholes that I noticed while reading. Most mayor characters get enough development that you can understand them. My only real negative point other than the weak start is that sometimes translation quality drops fo 10-20 chapters, also some drops are worse others barly noticeable but they always recover (again as far as I read, so around ch2150)

Pros: A fairly good system that does not take away from the story, No power creep, simple cultivation realms, MC doesn’t come from weakest city of weakest country of weakest region in the most desolate world, no “upper realm”, other characters are actually strong and talented, MC grows and learns throughout the story, a simple yet intricate power system, no faceslap, MC is not freakishly talented or overbearing, uses unorthodox powers, no harem or collecting trophy wives, scheming and scamming MC, not too many random techniques, no bs power ups, every ability we see is eventually explained and part of a character skill set, a lot of mystery, characters have a purpose and revelancy after hundreds of chapters. Cons: Abyss Island arc lasts about 1000 chapters, even disregarding Dongwantian City. Mc sometimes acts brainless. First arc is tournament and dragged out. Bazhunan is an ever moving goalpost who seems to inexplicably be Holy Emperor level (peak of current known cultivation levels) If you can stomach the first 200 chapters, I would read it.

MC is not funny at all. He is just annoying. It seems like the author tries too hard to make it funny, yet fails miserably.

This novel could’ve been much better, however, this is just another author who wrote a novel with a brain dead MC and tried to pass his stupidity off as comedy. Very poor attempt at being funny. Sadly it ruined the novel. The other issue was the fights. Yeah it’s an attempt at writing a comedy novel, but the fights are the worst I’ve ever seen. The author doesn’t know how to create a balance between seriousness and his terrible sense of humor. I have no idea how this even has a 3.9 rating.

Where is chapter 121? A chapter is missing, in raw novel, there was another chaptet Between 120 - 121.

I have read up to chapter 1923 as of writing this review and can confidently say this is one of the best novels I have ever read. MC's system is OP but interesting nonetheless.

I love this novel so much, it’s definitely one of my top five favourites as the characters are interesting and world building is nice. Things are actually foreshadowed and you can guess what’s going to happen. It starts out as a comedic system novel but the system is not the focus of the novel, it’s the characters and the story. Even the minor enemies are developed well like that woman who wanted to kill him in the tiansang palace. One thing I have to say though is the translation.. uhh in quite a few chapters sometimes names of things are sometimes translated differently and weirdly.. like “Heart Devil Sword technique” out of nowhere became “Demons under eyes” and Xiao Wangfeng being xiao eveningwood.. there are still chapters that are translated poorly even after a year.

those who have read untill 1800 chaps please tell me will the translation get better or will it remain the same and when will it improve.

Chapter 1680 , the translations are getting poor in quality. I love this novel and have been recommending it on Reddit groups and such. Please don't let the reading experience drop! We can wait longer for the chapters but please remedy the situation henceforth.

Current read chapter as of wrighting 1679.I think that this novel has a great power system, has interesting character design, plays around troops very well, and the depth of the world is amazing.the author does an amazing job of making the main character seem really strong early on, but once you continue to read the only thing overpowered about him is the support of those around him.Xu's intelligence and Charisma allowed the story to thrive with him being underpowered compared to the threats that he is facing, while also making him overpowered for his actual level.I do wish that the author/translator added tags so it would get tossed around to more people.Also Mu/Lei X Xu should happen, please add the romance tag and end her waiting!

good read. but the translations is a wreck at 786 onwards

not what i expect from the word PASSIVE SKILL. The skills arent skills from gaming term. There is no percentage increase of attributes, no regeneration, no immunity/resistance skills. All he got is a breathing technique for "passive" cultivation, and strengthen skill for ez level up of body cultivation. Even the strength skill lvl correlate to the cultivation lvl, from Acquired lvl 1 to lvl 10, then become Innate lvl 1, and so on. NOT strength +2% or something like what i expect from the term passive skills. What a disappointment
