yes sure, the future might have tech like that. but don't forget that the future also had just recently come out of an attack by an AI enemy. do you really think they would haven't had physical fail safes in their main AI, the AI that the virus was hiding in? like making the AI core entirely dependent on the scientists for power. Especially since the virus itself was the former Main AI. they would then be very suspicious of this Main AI too. though as a side note, even if soil could be used for energy, that seems particularly cumbersome and inefficient, and besides, what will the AI do after all the soil there has gone out?

you only explained the ISP internet connection. and I cant tell whether that is correct or not because I dont know much about it. all the other things, about how it can't actually run on the computers, and the power supple and the actual location of the AI, all of these you just told me to assume it works. if that is how this is then I will just tell you to assume that even the Isp wont work.

go back and look at the replies. you were the one who first asked me to neglect the power supply concerns and all the other concern about it not even being able to work in the first place. and then you latched on to the one point that makes it seem like the AI will work when in reality you had to not think off all the other factors that will make it impossible for the AI to even work.

even if we negate the power consumption needs by assuming that it is somehow able to get the power, then there is the next step, actually connecting to the internet. think about it, It cant really go to an ISP and ask for a internet connection can it? and any hardwired ethernet ports it might have would be incompatible with the current day connections. so it wont even be able to go online.

but a core of an AI isn't like those things they show in the movies. it isn't some chip which can have the whole AI hardwired into it. because if it was hardwired then there would be zero chances of future upgrade, it defeats the purpose of having an smart evolvable AI I am sure the scientists would have taken that into account when they built it. so what other alternatives do they have to make an AI core? a modular one, and that is only If they are planning on actually hardwiring the entirety of the AI. but modular design not only takes more space, but it also means more advanced technology has to be used. which also means very real potential for incompatiblily with older technology. after talking about those, lets assume that the AI core is suddenly transported into the past. but, so what? first thing, can anyone ignore a big block of computer machine materializing out of no where? then second, even if you assume that it brought it's core, and assume that no one finda it strange, where did it gets it's power to run? how would it have plugged on to the power network. and lets not forget that this is supposedly the most powerful AI, then the power consumption must be atrocious, so where would it get the power? and dont think that the people building not would have added a portable battery. because from the story background, the AI was able to hide its presence from people only by hiding in the Main AI's server. so I am pretty sure that the scientists and people responsible for AI would have taken precautionary measure like not giving it a portable power supply. so there it goes, ecen if the AI core itself is transported into the world, it would just be a huge hunk of useless machine that is out of power and unable to even boot up. but lets assume that some idiot did plug it in. just think of the power consumption though. it would probably need a industrial power supply and not anyone can do that. that moment anyone tries to plug it into a commercial power supply, they would just short out all the cables, leaving them with nothing. so no power, no boot up, no connecting with the internet.

I didn't say it wouldn't have the knowledge. I am going from your statement of the processors being hardwired to process bits. sure it has knowledge on it, but it just having that knowledge doesn't mean it can run on a processor hardwired to process only bits while the AI itself is designed to process only qubits or something more advanced. The people who created it wouldn't have wasted time making it compatible for machines in the past. Sure they could have added the knowledge of the old programming language, how the old processors work but that doesn't mean anything. it having knowledge on it doesn't mean it will be compatible with it. it is like copying the entire coding of the Apple os into a windows computer and expecting the windows computer to run it easily without any compatibility issues. you know, the more I think about this and talk to you about this, the more aware I am becoming of the impossibility of this novel. there is no way the AI would have been able to operate on an older dinosaur of a machine found in the 21st century. as soon as the AI is brought here, it would have just sat there in some harddrive as an enormous amount of code that would have been incompatible with any device to even get it started.

maybe the using the words scripts wasnt the best one, and yes the machine in 2000 something wouldn't be quantum machines, but the virus came from a future earth described as the most powerful civilization. a civilization that created this powerful AI and even successfully experimented with time travel. do you really think that civilization would have created this powerful AI with some basic machine from the 2000s? and what incentive do they even have to make it compatible with these basic computers that no one probably used in that future?

I never said that it needs an algorithm for a and gate to give an input. I am saying, an AI needs an internal algorithm and neural network to actually think by itself, and decide on how to manipulate the data. you are talking about everything but how an AI works. and my other point, you talk about how the process are Hardwick to process bits. that is another thing I am trying to. the future could have used quantum computers to build the AI. and a quantum computer uses qubits, not bits. so if the AI tries to send a qubit to a normal computer, you can expect the normal computer to know what to do with it. at that point even "manipulating a single binary" as you called it earlier, would become a multistep process where the AI would have to first convert the qubit to a bit and then send it to the computer.

nice to see you provided some info. i admit I dont know this much in dept about this. but all of this only proves my original reply. especially the part about how the processer is hardwired to accept only 8 bits. what guarantee is there that that remains the same in future? people are already talking about quantum computers, and I know something about it to know just on and off isn't the only two states for it. now how can an AI that was designed for Quantum computer be able to run in a normal current time processor? what if it was designed for an different number of bit and was totally unworkable in this processers. oh and threads and prossess are not the one and the same.

just look over your reply dude. you accept that algorithm is needed for creating the processes. do you know what a processes is? it is just a program that has been loaded into a thread. and for that process to function properly it needs both the algorithms and the program code. sigh.... please look into what you are talking instead of just saying whatever you can think off.
