I had honestly like the story but the MC just becomes so insufferable, combine that with the overly long 'exam' plot, the 80% of the first 50 chapters being side chacters' reactions and the 'One of the only illusionists in the world coming to his school for resources'. It just isn't worth it. First, the side characters' 'reactions' and misunderstandings. Honestly, I expect this to happen because how else would underpaid authors, who get paid by the number of words they write, feed themselves and their families? Still disappointing. Basically, he inadvertently follows around the 'school belle' (still cringing from that nickname) and he just... can't clear it up; he tries, no one believes him. Which, of course, makes us read all the different cookie cutter shi everyone thinks about in that situation. Then he HELPS her???? For no reason other than the author wanted him to, which, surprise surprise, causes him to breakthrough, something that a literal classroom full of student working their a$$es off couldn't help with. Then, she thanks him for 'last night' with a gift that he takes and because he doesn’t need it, ignores it and he does (continued below). Why couldn't he use that to motivate the other simps to work harder? Give that as a prize for the hardest cultivator since his system needs others around him to work hard? Probably because the author already made him too OP and tried to nerf his intelligence. There's also an illusionist of a girl that's the principal's distant relative who he asks to transfer to his school for lots of resources and my question is, why? We're told how rare illusionists are and how much of a cheat their ability is and the government... just... doesn't care? Wow, just wow. Although considering that there's a 'World wide cultivation web' that's not under their (human's) control THAT EVERYONE USES, I guess that's to be expected. Now onto the MC. He has lots of problems but the main that ticks me off the most is what he 'thinks' about. Everytime there's a girl he talks to, he goes, (continued here) "Tsk tsk, why go through all that trouble to lie/your mouth says one thing but look at how honest your body is." Wtf? Do Chinese authors have any experience in talking to people? To not write such creepy characters that the think is cool. 🤢 Eww, just eww. (And yea, there may be some of you that think, "What? That's not a big deal!" And I say onto you: Go talk to your mothers like that, then you'll see... hopefully see. I doubt it tho)

I really like it and until chapter 40, it seems good. Idk if the author xan keep it up and about the raw chapters reading them is hard. The 'childishness' of the MC is kinda refreshing, since I've been reading extremely dark and twisted stories that just break your soul (search for dystopia tags). Again, if done right, it'll be good and since we're only at chapter 40, idk how it'll turn out but I hope it gets translated cuz mtling the raws makes me feel like my brain is frying/melting.
