Most likely, without the ritual Lumian wouldn't feel the colossal figure being afraid of him (or perhaps it wouldn't be afraid in the first place) and thus he wouldn't be able to gather the last bit of strength to deal the finishing blow to such an imposing opponent. Which then would mean dying/losing control during the advancement.

The phrasing seems a bit awkward but I think what it's trying to get across is that in the past six months, no other adventurer has reached the same level of renown as he has, rather than saying that he's been working at the sea for all that time.

By "these waters" he means the area of the sea that falls under the Governor's influence, not literally the water itself. As long as he's in the area where the power works and he's still counted as the Governor, he can see/sense everything going on around him if he wants.

I still have a few hours of Governor of the Sea authority. Isn't it easy to 'see' something in these waters?

If I recall right, Amon is as much against the Outer Deities as Klein is. Their issue with each other stems almost entirely from the fact that Amon doesn't think Klein is worthy/strong enough to ascend to LotM, and since they need as much power against the threat as possible, Amon thinks the position should be his instead. If they weren't in the same Pathway group, they most likely wouldn't have clashed as bad as they did.

I don't think they have gained any new Major Arcana holders in the time the Fool has been sleeping. If I recall right, when Magician offers Lumian to pull a Minor Arcana, she first offers the main deck but then puts it away, remarking something along the lines of "Wrong deck, I don't have the authority to offer you this." Which would then imply that a Major Arcana HAS to be picked by the Fool and since he's still snoozing away, it's very doubtful anyone new has been added. And like you said, we don't really have any criteria beyond this, so assuming someone has to be a member of the Tarot Club just because they are a demigod is an odd sentiment to have considering Justice and Sun weren't even Beyonders when they joined. Unless I remember wrong, the strongest member at the time of their joining was Hermit who was a Sequence 5, rest were below that. But it has been a while, and the first book isn't exactly short so I might be misremembering something.

After a two-second pause, the Knight of Swords added, "Moreover, I'm only temporarily under Ma'am Hermit's command."

Might be a mistranslation yeah. Or possibly Lumian pretending to be really bad at the language, perhaps making a word plural is trickier than just adding a letter to the end. We could also be reading way too much into it and it's just a regular typo that snuck in.
