Sarn: OK - first let me start by saying that I love sci-fi novels (and that I think this novel is a gem, and deserves more credit than it's getting). I also happen to love fantasy novels. But what I really, really love are novels that manage to blend these two genres together creating an entertaining, well-written, action-packed, science <3's magic, totally amazing story.

And that, my friends, is exactly what this author puts out. The characters are interesting, little to no grammatical errors, not to mention a sometimes hilarious, sometimes action/gritty, holistically amusing story-line!

And as a bonus feature, the author seems to have a background in science and combat?? Regardless, the author sprinkles cool sounding combat and science-techno jargon throughout the story; while I'm not sure any of it's correct, it sounds frickin' awesome. Keep the good work, dear author, and I'll keep reading!

One of the few MTL novels out there that is halfway readable, it surely must be MTL because grammer and editing wouldnt be this bad if this was an original. "Whats that you tell me, this is a original. Well gosh darn it I have nothing more to say".

Crappy grammar and editing throughout, story has potential but the author seriously needs to read and edit his work before posting. At this stage it is probably on the same level as a better MTL. View More

If you love racism in your novels, illogical nonsense and just love how superior the Han is to everyone else then this novel is right up your alley.

The hate for Japan is strong in this one, dropped it at its most recently translated chapter which at the time of writing this review is at 202.

There's a few reason why this novel is trash and I will list it.

1.Racism
The hate for Japan and pretty much any other race is blatantly obvious in this novel. Qidian should leave these types of novels for their own chinese domestic market. Anything that is published for the WORLDWIDE market should have a little bit more thought put into it before they start paying actual people to translate this into english. Commenters who defend racism in LN always seem to have the same two catchcrys "if you dont like it you shouldn't read or its for the chinese market to get used to it" or variations of. This can in no way excuse racism because as I said before, this platform (webnovel) was created to cater to the english speaking market. A market which has some strong views on racism, so foregoing translating racist novels for the wider market would seem the smarter idea. The equivalent would be a english publishing house entering the chinese market and paying for chinese translators to translate novels and one of the key themes would be how subhuman chinese people are and how their culture is rubbish. Do you think that would be acceptable? If your answer is No then why are we not holding webnovel to the same standard? If you need the racist elements in the novel surely you can put a Tag in before readers like myself start reading.

2.Plotholes
Japan and China still exist 10,000 years into the future? I call bull**** on this. All the major religions and myths were lost yet somehow Avatar and niche culture stuff are still remembered? BS

3.Pacing
Main MC powers up from nothing to earth superman in the space of a few months. I'm being generous by saying months, it was more like weeks.

Thank f$%k someone said what I was thinking of writing but with more eloquence. All these shills of Qidian who keep trying to normalise racism are plainly wrong or just a little(alot) dumb. I can only assume a few things after reading the comments on this and other novels where racism is present:

1.50c army of Qidian paid to divert negative comments away with abuse or ridicule (ridicule seem to be the most common method, "how dare we disagree with the obvious truth of how great the Hua race is, also if you dont like it gtfo" my favourite is "its a chinese novel so expect the racism, if you dont like it dont read".

2.Are of Chinese descent themselves and see nothing wrong with hating the Japanese, Americans and pretty much anyone not of China or Han

3.Self hating white people with such low self esteem and national pride that any racism directed their way seem self-deserved. Whites being racist is not acceptable but the Chinese being racist is perfectly fine, gtfoh.

4. Mentally handicapped (had to put it out there, some people are just stupid. Either they are trolling or they genuinely believe that it acceptable for there to be racism in an open platform, either way they come across as ignorant.

Webnovel was created to cater to primarily english speaking nations, USA, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand and for people who have picked up english as a second language. These countries all have strong views on racism so for Webnovel not to even screen and eliminate any novels with such blatant racism before they start translating is plainly stupid and bad business practice. Imagine the furor that would occur if Amazon published racist novels depicting the Chinese as subhuman or criminal scum.

As an Australian of Asian descent I love my country and am proud of it. Nationalism and pride in one country is never wrong just make sure it doesnt lead to racism. View More

Heretoc: To people below... And above, who are saying that this novel was made to cater Chinese population and what do you expect?

First of all, it was made to cater Chinese Readers but we are NOT THEM. There are 194 more countries who don't give a **** about Chinese nationalism... And now apparent racism. If a white man had called a black man nigger or something on a public space, the media, the activists and politicians would be having a great time making a hill out of nothing. Here, people are like, just deal with it. If a Christian had gone and insulted a Muslim, there would be riots happening on the street. If an American hurts a Sikh, the whole community would be protesting. But here... It's fine. Wtf? Bloody double standards. And yeah... I am not asking you to go and protest or something. So don't take it the wrong way.

Back to topic, this is not Qidan. This is Webnovel. Although owned by Qidian, the name differentiation itself says everything. If they are releasing something in international market, they should atleast try to make it worthy. Yes, they can't just censor everything, but it's not like they only have such novels. ISSTH, AGT, AWE, ST, etc, there are so many novels which are not racist. Plus it's not like we will be missing anything.

Webnovel is already filled with mediocre novels which are apparently written from the same template, and now such ****.

If it was free, it would be no problem. But they expect us to pay for it. You can easily buy a book for 2-3 dollars, and here we barely get few chapters. Basically, pay for reading such ****.

If it was just racism, I would probably just drop the novel. But the whole story is based on false facts and apparent glorification of Chinese myths. Honestly, outside China who even knows Chinese characters? Aryans destroyed civilization, Chinese civilization is the oldest, yellow people are the best. Cmon... Has he even googled anything or he's just bull****ting?

Now why am I not leaving this novel? I have a bad habits of at least reading till chapter 200-250, before dropping such novels. If nothing improves by then... Well bye bye LotMG.

Time out.

Ciao.

UncleLeiFeng: This novel was started in 2018. The main character is racist because the author is racist. He murders survivors for profit and control and then turns on his inferiority complex to claim that other countries won't accept "Z" country because they're deceitful and greedy "in their genes."

Just another new YY nationalist spooge-fest. It's a shame this type of pestilence is rewarded instead of shamed..

iMahiro: A hidden gem, a genius teenager and an average man that was trained to be a badass and lived his life serving his country as an agent, fused together to become an even bigger badass.

He wants to be known by his knowledge and intelligence but his life started to revolve around showbiz.

He doesn't have a system nor cheat that would help him be famous straight up (i.e given acting skills / singing skills), he also didn't go back in time to steal other's works. But with the fused genius and badass agent's abilities, he could push through any obstacles.

This is very much worthy of 5 star imo, but I'll leave it with 4.5, there are minor spelling mistakes or mistakenly using homonyms, but that could be easily fixed by simple editing.

The author also did great by staying away from most clichés. It stays unique. And you wouldn't be grinding your teeth from reading almost the same sh*t over and over despite reading different books.

PettyOfficer: To sum up the entire problem, the MC’s soul is a Godly powerhouse who could do whatever he wanted. With all that power, age, and wisdom, why would the MC be humble to the point of subservience? The MC shouldn’t be that absurdly humble to an NPC which doesn’t exist as a real person.

The review was angry about why the MC bootlicked everyone and played their games. The MC isn’t a kid and it’s weird for a genius Gramps to be playing games with kids (FBI open up!) They aren’t his children nor does he have any responsibility in game because it’s all fake.

This isn’t saying the MC needs to be arrogant. The MC can be polite and humble without praising people to the skies. You can say, “Gramps,” “Friend,” “Old Man,” and anything else to show companionship.

You don’t choose between lording over people or kowtowing to them. There’s a spectrum. That’s why you can have friends who are on the same level as you. It’s respect. The MC is lacking self-respect when he praises people to the Sun with lies. He becomes less human who can enjoy or hate things and more like a service robot.

You would think that an old Powerhouse would know that people don’t like kiss*sses. People prefer friendships and family. In a dangerous world, being that humble is asking to be taken advantage of. If you have no boundaries about what you can do for people, chances are, you will be used as a pawn. If you build relationships by treating them with respect and receiving respect in reciprocation, that builds the foundation of an strong bond.

Besides, super humble people realistically aren’t legit. Almost no one drops down and pays respects without a reason. People automatically suspect you of ulterior motives, because how can you trust a person who only shows goodness? Everyone has their flaws and vices, so the people that look good tend to have dark history. This makes it disadvantageous because too many people would be skeptical of you, if not juicing your goodwill for their own benefit.

PatienceMaster: Man has a mind.
The mind allows a person to perceive information, to memorize, analyze, draw conclusions, etc.
All this is an experience. Life experience.
It is this experience that determines the behavior of the rational being.
Who are we without our memory? - pliable clay, unformed personality, child.
Issei has an experience of 1000 years.
It is an experience of bloody battles, murders, love, betrayal, friendship, traveling, learning about yourself and the world, climbing the top of the heads of opponents, fame, etc. Of course, if only he did not lead a life of hickey and did not sit in a cave for 1000 years, meditating on his navel. If he is not exhausted by life and he is not depressed, then he should have experienced at least one of the above.
Now, if we merge a child at the age of 20 and a mature predator who has lived for 1000 years, then at the exit we should get the same predator, who simply learned new information.
Experience is the basis of rational being.

afire190: With this level of grammar, this story is basically unreadable. While stories should be judged based on the merit of plot, characters, etc., there is a minimum level of grammatical correctness and editing to make the story enjoyable to read. This story does not meet that mark.

Reincarnated Into The Apocalypse Of An Alternate World

ResidentialPsycho: The translation is very confusing at times and often uses words that have completely different meanings from what is intended. For example, not a single worm has appeared twenty chapters into the series. Instead, there have only been things like lizards, snakes, and centipedes, which are definitely not considered "worms" in English. One reader commented that the translation is supposed to be something like Gu, which is prominent in Asian horror novels involving evil magic creepy-crawlies and would make more sense than "worm." Another confusing detail is when a broken limb gets mixed up with an flesh wound or an amputation. A broken arm is much less of a problem than an amputated one, and these are two very different meanings in English. That said, it is possible to figure out what the translation was probably supposed to say.

When I first voted for this novel, I expected to see an MC who died with worms crawling over his body before he revives as an undead lich or something. Thus far, there are no worms, and the MC is very much alive. I assume the "worm" part of the title is a translation error, but I don't know if the "lich" part of the title means that the MC will die and come back as a lich later on or if this is also a translation error.

The story development is confusing, which doesn't help the odd translations. It picks up after the first ten or so chapters. The logic is skewed all over the place as far as characters and development go, but part of that could be a cultural thing.

The culture is very interesting to read about and is the main reason I am still reading this series so far. I'm not sure how long it will keep my attention, but the distinct culture described in this series is the only reason I've read so many chapters.

The MC isn't likeable so far and hasn't shown much depth. He has shown some development, so hopefully that will continue to be interesting. A cop has played a prominent role so far, but he is basing his judgement of guilt or innocence purely on his gut instinct and not evidence. There are cases I've read about where an officer has forged evidence because he "knew" the suspects were guilty, but they were proven innocent later. Naturally, the officer in question went to prison. The cop in this story is like that, and he's incredibly annoying and sullying the name of investigation. Then again, this is China, so I'm not sure if they prefer following feeling over reason as part of their legal system, unlike the one in my country. Otherwise, none of the side characters have been particularly likeable or worthy of attention.

Although the cultural details are interesting, there isn't much information about the world background itself. The storytelling is messy at best, and there's no clear summary regarding "wizards," who are more like evil sorcerers or witches in this setting. I'm not sure if any clarification will be added later. So far, there has only been a detail dropped in once every several chapters, so the system of magic or voodoo or using familiars or whatever exactly is supposed to be going on here doesn't leave any basis for the reader to understand it.
