I think the flashback had a good lenght overall. I would have liked to get some more Eric/Cerlius interaction before, though, cause while the betrayal was probably prette bad for Cerlius, I felt I was not that fazed by it at all

Among the anime I wached recently I'd recommend Vinland Saga, Mushoku Tensei and Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari (Rise of the Shield Hero) To my embaressment, the only traditionally pubished series I read that fits the timeframe is A Darker Shade of Magic. I also really recommend the Gentlemen Bastards Sequence by Scott Lynch, but the first book of that one is quite a bit older.

Now I just hope Lance will be able to take it when he inevitably finds out that Cerlius/Doevm is a Lich. It would also be real nice if he learns that Sozo did not betray him or anyone. Also, Trenton is way cooler than I gave him credit for.

I need more detail, what color is is hair? Crooked, but how tall is full height (in meters please)? And what shoe-size does he have? Joking, well done with the description, reads nice and smoothly ^^

I like this format. If you really want to avoid cliffhangers, you can just save up chapters to binge read. (Which I just did and it ended with a cliff hanger. Weeellll ....)
