I honestly don't mean it is a bad way, it is just my opinion, and I hope you will not take it as criticism, because it isn't. Please don't think I will stop reading the book, because of one character, I just wanted to share my thoughts. I will continue to read the book, because I love it so much, and Aideen and Tillian always leave me aching for more. ❤️ I can't wait to read more about everyone.

Commented Okay, I'm not saying this to fight with anyone. I want you to know that I absolutely love the book and its characters, especially Aideen and Tillian. The author is brilliant at writing such a fascinating story, and of course, everyone is entitled to their opinions...
But I don't know if it's just me, however I'm not really fond of Melania. I don't know what it is about her that irks me (well other than her self-pity), but I find her incompatible for both Yanad and Yuraon. I feel like they both deserve better.
Now, I'm not excusing Yanad's behaviour. I know that Yanad has been distant with Melania, and that he didn't bother with her until it was absolutely necessary (i.e. when his father forced him). He also seems to habour affections for Aideen, hoping that she is as miserable as he is and where he turned a blind eye to the abuse that his family inflicted upon Aideen. I do dislike him as well, however I do think that the author has something planned for him and feel like Yanad will turn out to be a redeemable hero in the end, a better king than his father.
It seems to me that Yuraon is an absolute diamond, who seems to have an amazing personality and I absolutely love him. He is kind, respectful, selfless, and funny, and I can't wait for watch him develop into a powerful, beloved and respected king, but I feel that Melania doesn't deserve him, because he is too precious.
I do hope that no-one takes offence, and I don't mean any harm to anyone. ❤️

Replied to littleonevixen You're right, it's not just carelessness. She doesn't care for much other than filling her stomach. I mean, there have been so many incidents with Yan Huan and she hasn't noticed and there's the way she treated Little Bean. I've honestly stopped liking her.
Yan Huan had lived for so long that she knew how to hide herself.

Commented I thought I was the only one who had started to dislike her. Yi Ling never notices what's happening with Yan Huan and only seems to care for herself, most of the time. Yet, Yan Huan takes all her time and effort to try and hide things from her that she thinks will worry Yi Ling. I honestly don't understand Yi Ling, you would think she would be a better sister to Yan Huan.
Hm, nevermind, must have been nothing, she thought as she scratched her hair, humming a random song. Then she took a shower and changed her clothes. She was too careless and didn't realize anything was wrong with Yan Huan.
