isabant: The author is really not scared of showing the realities of 18th century Europe... coz that's exactly how life was in the colonies then

ResidentialPsycho: It's rare for a novel to address racism so clearly. Also, the snake in the vents reminds me of a Sherlock Holmes short story called "The Adventure of the Speckled Band." Klein, be prepared for there is a mystery afoot!

Ozwin: Idk I can’t think of him as anything but an underling now, plus wasn’t there a different pirate who was described as having some sort of glass object much like those that allowed Klein to initially pull in most of the members so far?

Surely_Panda: True, this is often what separates a petty thug from a memorable villain. Great villains may commit acts of evil but their word carries WEIGHT and consequently their promises and threat deserves respect.

Dex2: I just had a thought:
When Klein advances to Nimblewright Master, he may be able to control a paper figurine in the real world similar to how he controls The World in the grey fog

MasterBookWormLich: I like that Klein’s Mr Fool honored his word, to me the most important characteristic a divinity must have is being loyal to they word/promises. Only the evil entities or demons and devils would use subterfuge to avoid fulfilling with they word... either if is for good or bad a god/divine entity must honor it word... that’s kind of the esoterics I love with supernatural entities.

ResidentialPsycho: It occurs to me that, if Klein uses the Nightmare characteristic and turns it into an item, then he may have the ability to drag people into dreams and bash them with his memories of the holy light of the Sun God, which would be especially dangers for Beyonders of the Prisoner Pathway and the pathway of the Aurora Order. It would be immensely helpful in hunting down the Blood Admiral and his gang. This would be an excellent alternative method of attack. Even if the enemy doesn't have that specific weakness (although I imagine such an attack would hurt anyone), Klein could pull them into a dream to make their movements more sluggish, so he could attack more.

Dolores_Haze: Someone should make this into a mmorpg: When you roll a new character you can choose which God to believe in - if you choose one of the orthodox churches you may get a chance to join the Nighthawks/MPunishers/MHiveminds later on. If you choose an evil deity you will get hunted as soon as you get exposed... You start out as a common human being. You might hunt monsters for characteristics or buy your first potion once you have saved up enough money. Or if you serve the church or a secret organization they might provide you with a potion of you proved yourself. The common laws of the beyonder world apply. That means that there is a set amount of beyonder characteristics in the world (first held by NPCs or monsters, who do not respawn!) and if a Player wants to reach the really high sequences he will probably need to hunt other players of the same path. There will be to be some kind of way to determine how well you act according to your portion, e.g. assassins need to kill, sleepless will only digest their potion during the (ingame) night, spectators will improve if they frequently observe others without being noticed. Players should be indistinguishable from NPCs unless they give themselves away. Although they might get locked into an asylum and get experimented on by the Psychology Alchemists if they shout that this world is fake and the Players are the only human beings...

MasterBookWormLich: Wow, I keep liking more and more the identity of Gerhman Sparrow. He’s mysterious, with cold sharpness and somehow aloof but gentlemanly, in front of his adversaries is intimidating and frighteningly mad and brutal but he keeps being warm and kind with those who befriend him or help him even if it it was just recently. 🤔I think he’s a representation of the extremes of the moral values of Klein... and For some reason he remembers me a little to vampire hunter D and Wang Lin from HN1F... 😎👍

ResidentialPsycho: It's impressive that Klein can be his nice-guy self and still be recognized as a madman. I wonder if the native forces on the island finally decided to counterattack the Church of the Storm. It's pretty funny how Klein tried to convince himself that this wasn't happening for the first time in 300 years just because he was present.

Ozwin: Dany boy here really shows why sidekicks are such popular literary devices. Look at all the opportunities to be cool he is giving Klein! Look how much fun it is to view Klein from this other perspective that knows nothing about him, not to mention he makes Klein look better by comparison with how cowardly (reasonably so though imo) his thoughts are!

lindatan90: It's not only about gore. It's about words that hints of ritual and occult. The official reason of censorship is it promotes superstition. Because of this new rule, the whole horror genre disappear from Qi. Only those with good ranking was spared somehow but things doesn't look good. If you know about My House of Horror, the latest chapters was completely censored for three days continuously. Also, the title of the novel was changed from "My House of Horror" to "My House of Adventure", because "horror" seems to become a sensitive word there.

Nighterfield: Guys, I've got a bad news coming from china.

It appears that some paragraphs in some chapters got deleted, causing the story lost its meaning. Author was angry about it and didn't know what happened. I suspect those paragraphs got deleted because how cencorship works in china

So I'm afraid to inform you that starting from vol 5. The quality of this novel will probably go downhill if the paragraphs containing gore keep getting deleted

ResidentialPsycho: Lol... Klein and his money! At least, will have enough money for travel for the next month or so, depending on how expensive everything is, once Alger pays him.

Poor Klein had to throw away his identity as "Sherlock Moriarty" for now after all. It looks like the remaining three months or so of rent he paid in advance will be in vain.
