I'm very interested in how you'll do this and I guess I hope that you'll pull some subversion like you did with PGH. It always seems weird to me that after learning the "always a bigger fish" lesson and being destroyed utterly, the protagonists of these stories always just go with trying to amass more power. I think it would be really interesting to see a protagonist who actually pushes humanity in another direction. Instead of playing by the rules of a game where our race is disadvantaged, why not push them towards scientific development using the new resources. Or search for a separate system of magic where humanity isn't so disadvantaged. Regardless, I'll be following along with interest and please don't be put off by the preceding rant. I'm pretty sure that I'd still enjoy your novels even if they used every cliche in the book and went back to the library for more.
