I thought he didn't say anything to her, and that Cassius's father had gone directly to her parents. so in the end she has no choice but marry him.

"Hope, you stay happy with your decision my child." he said cryptically and I did not know what it meant. But I was too happy to care so I just nodded my head hard.

yes, you are right. but at least it's a step forward in their relationship. Better to talk and argue then, than to shut up and suffer much more in the future.

"You are telling people that I am unfaithful to you. When you are the one who was meeting her childhood sweetheart privately, you have learnt to hide a lot of things, my dear wife" I replied in a low and dangerous voice with a chuckle, but my laugh was cold.

Maybe, because at one point Marianne say that Killian doesn't resembles anyone of his parents.

When I saw her walking down the aisle, it was the best day of my life. I was so happy that I could not describe it in words. But it was overwhelming when she told me she was pregnant, I remembered I had distributed silver coins in the whole palace and nearby area. It was like over the moon feeling.

Yeah, but this mean that because I am heterosexual I should avoid boys (I am a girl)? It doesn't make sense. If the other have a reputation of be a criminal rapist, then okay. I understand your thoughts.

On the other hand, Geoffrey was surprised when Serena volunteered herself to perform. Her attention seeking behavior instigating his ire. Almost all the people present knew that she was his intended, and there she was, acting shamelessly, not even regarding her position.

everyone can have they opinion, so for me is okay if you don't think like me. the only think I don't like is how the grandfather take the illegitimate grandchild to make her the heiress. and then when he discovered that the other granddaughter is still alive, he throw away the antagonist and then he think he is in the right, blamed everyone for his decision to not continue the research. one thing is the mother another is the child. I would never blame a child even she/he make something to hurt me, because I would always think that maybe someone is behind it. this is a mature and how an adults should think. if he ignored the child always, I would not blame him, because is not his responsibility to take care of the mess of his son. but he use the antagonist when was convenient. I only think that maybe if only there was in the first life of the antagonist a persone who help her and protect her like one should do to a child, then maybe there would not be all this mess (and here I don't speak about the grandfather or mother or father, someone one). An affair is different from a fling. A fling is something occasionally, with someone you maybe never meet again. An affair is something between two people, when one or both have already a relationship with someone else. Dating is between two people who previously were single and now they go out exclusively with that persone. the father and mother dating. Anyway is not justify that the father didn't know. I don't even know how is possible, because the antagonist and the protagonist have almost the same age, so how the father never know of his other daughter?

the son and maid didn't have an affair. It was stated that the two were together and than the grandfather engaged the son with the mother of the protagonist, because he doesn't agree with their relationship. They were two young people in love. okay, the antagonist's mother become a horrible persone in the future, but at that time she was a young girl who was separated and abandoned by her lover. The grandfather is a manipulative persone who see the dirt in other people but not in himself. Also the protagonist father is a coward and don't have character. If not there would not be all this mess. To have a child is necessary two people, not only one. And him abandoned his pregnant girlfriend to go to marry another girl. The antagonist's mother is greed and cruel, but also the protagonist's father and grandfather are not any better. I agreed that is not his responsibility for the illegitimate granddaughter, but is not like he ignored her all her life. Then I would not have anything to tell on his behaviour. He take her, give a hope to be loved and escaped her horrible life with her mother (remember that the girl was raped by different men brought by her mother. this is something traumatic, that one don't forget her all life). She work for three years desperately to have his approval and then nothing. He abandoned her because he realized that had made a huge mistake the moment when he didn't continued to search for his beloved granddaughter (I would like the definition of love from him, considering that he abandoned the research so fast). Here I think he make a mistake, because he was the adults and if he had made a different decision there would not be all this. I stop to read this story, because I wanted to wait the end and then read all the story altogether; so I don't know if she rebord different times (But then also the other protagonists rebord different times? Because otherwise it make no sense.). But anyway my opinion remain the some, because the protagonist is always protected and loved by anyone. there is always someone, who make things for her or there to support her. On the other side we have someone who have to always fight for herself, in a completely wrong way/doing it the worst way possible, but the only way she was taught by the people around her as she grows up. We can agreed that she is a horrible persone like her mother and her grandfather, but we can't say that she has not rights to be angry on those people, who use her and then throw her away. I would really like if she make pace with her step-sister and than realized that is not her the enemie, but the other people. It is right, sometime people don't change not matter what. But is also true that if you have be all your life protected, it's a given that you a gentle and generous; and you can't be compared with someone who was abused and denigrated all her life. The protagonist had always anyone on her side; people who destroyed the life of other people only because she frowns or because she is unhappy without hear the other version. The antagonist from the moment she was born was abandoned by her father, fiscally and mentally abused by her mother, raped by different men, give hope and make worked to became the heiress (I wonder why the antagonist had to study so much to become the heiress, but the protagonist study nothing) and then abandoned another times, ecc...

Yes, but this logic was valid in the beginning, when the nation was poor and the people die for hunger. But now is no more. He is an amazing inventor, but can only invent weapons? You can't think a more profitable business? Really? Is not like you don't have the resources. Why anyone of the schoolers try to invent a ways to cultivate their territory? why anyone think to develop any other business? I tell you way, because is more simpler do what you always do than try something new. Is it really necessary to create ever more lethal weapons? I think is more naive thinks like him, than like her. You really think no one would try to conquer your nation with the weapons you invent if there is the chances, only because you were the original inventor? Keep dreaming. She can not make herself understand, but if you see the conseguenze of a war this stupide justification of him is so shallow. Furthermore, she is the duchess for only two months and she didn't want to marry him. You criticism is not justify. She is not the one, who want to benefit from his money, but him. Her father chooses to import food, but his family to create only weapons and live in luxury (the speak of modesty but is okay to spend money in luxurious goods imported like silk, jewelry, oil for body and hair, but is not okay to eat desserts -> yeah, logic and modest).

She knew sometimes it was needed to risk lives for the nation and the world, but those brave people were not the ones who would benefit from all that destruction. Instead, people who forced them to sacrifice themselves were.

i can see that the author wanted to make us see the Duke and the son behavior with the prejudice eyes of Evelyn. she remembers her last life and how she was abused by her last family, so she thinks that this family is like the last family because of the indifference of the father and the mischievous comments of the brother. the problem is that here there is a reason for this behavior: the death of the late duchess. the father is a person who have difficulty to express his feelings and when lost his love he have necessity to have some time for himself to overcome the death of his wife. but this resulted in him be more indifferent and cold with his children (is not like he have lovely dovely rapport with the son). but he is not like the father of the other life, he is interested in the life of is children (every time Evelyn is injured she has the best cure. Evelyn and Allan have every need satisfated). the brother remember the mother so know the situation. but he is alone in this situation. his only ally, his sister, "escaped" with the lost of memories and so he is angry and how a adolescent react in this situation? mean comments and angry with the person who he think disappointed him (the sister). Evelyn lost six years of memories of her life. she doesn't know what happen, but remember her last life and use her prejudices for the family love she know to apply at this family. so she thinks only to escape and think that only her suffer. anyway, I want to write that this is what i understand of the story. I don't know if is true because I like the plot of the story, but the author should decided if she/he want to write from the point of views of Evelyn in third person; or be a oniscent write and write everything in third persone. is confused some time, because the author pass from one point of view at another without a apparent logic (for exemplar many times I have to read more than once to understand that the father never think that he hate his daughter, but it is the person he talks to who interpret so his words. or the brother who with his comments some times seem to hate more that Evelyn doesn't remember than anything else).
